Heat-Wave Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Radical thought and i'm just putting this out there. Jawa scrap is not the only thing the machines dropped and certainly not the only thing that was nerfed. I know. Crazy thinking. ^ This..
PhlebiacMendax Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I'm eagerly awaiting their response to all this as well. Hopefully they come up with an explanation and not just avoid us hoping we forget
Heat-Wave Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Didn't you CM chaps get a whole bunch of other things from this pack? Mounts, armour etc.? Why now is it being suggested that the slot machine was your sole aim? It was... The devs can look at my account, not one single item from the new pack has been used, except the slot machine. The rest of the items are still sitting in storage. I don't like any of them, the pack was bought solely to get the slot machine.
Citruzz Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) It was... The devs can look at my account, not one single item from the new pack has been used, except the slot machine. The usual ones and these guys starstrucked on the machines after the first response of the usual ones. And for a healthy mind, the first suspicion should be absolutely clear: the first state of this machine can not work as intended. And no, the devs talking about thats all right and telling us something like working as intended. But how is such a statement possible, without any idea of what is going on. MirtisAudroti Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 if you're playing swtor for the slot machine you're doing it wrong. can point you to some online gambling browser games if you want. k, thanks, bye
Alssaran Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) Uh, what I fail to understand after today's "patch", is.. where's the fun now? You know, I do believe it was Biowares intention to create an item, and bear with me for this crazy thought, which you wouldn't actually use for farming purposes. You buy 20 chips, go to the slot machine, and then you try your luck out. Every single complaint I've seen here, including the CM certificates and Blue/Green Scrap, was about using this machine to farm credits. To somehow make a profit on the GTN. Maybe it was never Biowares intend to use it that way? Maybe it was really just meant as a machine to put 20 chips in a week, try your luck a bit? Every complaint I see here is about people posting results for two-thousand, three-thousand or even four-thousand chips. Maybe that was never the intention to begin with? It was a machine to grant you reputation. It was meant for a short gamble, not for excessive multiple hours farming sessions. But what kind of fool must I be, actually enjoying hitting things with a lightsaber in a Star Wars game. Pulling a slot machine for eight hours seems the thing to do... Then they would have made a 20 chip per day cap, wouldn't they? /argumentfail -20/10

Jawa scrap is not the only thing the machines dropped and certainly not the only thing that was nerfed. I know. Crazy thinking. Yeah like how they put Certs & Rep with it right huh, 2 exclusive items to real $ transactions on the CM for 2 years being turned to ash with this in game machine. I know you have the choice to buy packs with credits but the outcome of packs Rep/Certs are no where near close to as what the machine gave, or is still giving.
Alssaran Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Then they would have made a 20 chip per day cap, wouldn't they? /argumentfail -20/10 No, they don't need to make a 20 chip per day cap. You can 'spend' as much on those chips as you want. Just don't expect to farm tons of credits with them. 20 was a random number. You can play a thousand times a day. Just don't expect to farm a massive amount of credits while doing it. *Insert random, useless point system here.*
Nickolaeris Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I agree that original drop rates might have been just a huge mistake. Though I really liked that rates and would like them back, I understand that such items are not supposed to be obtained so easily. Don't forget that Bioware decided not to cut rates more than it did now - to make slot machine less profitable they also increased chip price from 500 credits to 750. Almost all of you count the amount of chips spent, not the credits. I've spent several stacks of chips monitoring drop, and just by selling reputation boosts (not counting other drops, which is rare but still happens) I've received about 60% of what I spent on chips. If you think over all recent changes, you'll understand that since Revan update game economy became unstable. It was almost unnoticed, but prices started to get higher because of inflation - inflow of credits to players has greatly increased because of higher levels, new planets, removal of training costs - while there were no new ways to spend them. Slot machine is one of the ways (I'm sure there will be more) ways of removing excessive money from game, giving nothing in return - but still interesting to players.
LordArtemis Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 They could have done any number of things to rectify this....up to and including a public statement. Their choice was to do nothing and say nothing. Which they have done far too many times lately. Ignored serious issues, refused to comment, refused to acknowledge many of the good suggestions that the community presented. It seems this is how we are moving forward.

I, for one, don't accept that... they will reply to the issue and address it, or continue to hear about it... If we let them get away with this, it only tells them that they can keep doing it... Some of the people don't care about a slot machine, but sooner or later it will be something they DO care about...
