Solution for population issue and faction imbalance

Introduce cross-faction queues.

Basicaly, teams in WZ can now be composed of both republic and imperial side players, as in in 8v8 you can have one team composed of 2 sorcs, 2 jedi shadows, 1 PT, 1 Guardian, 2 Maras etc. etc........

This would:

1) Allow queue pops to occure much faster than it is now, since the matchmaking system would be able to mix players.

2) Fix the insane faction imbalance on multiple servers, where one side (mostly empire) gets queue pops all day long while the other (mostly republic) gets a pop once every year and even then its usually 5v8 since there are not enough people.

And what's the reason for two jedis melt each other? I even find these "scenarios" dumb as hell (especially "isn't this fun" on voidstar where 16 people bloodbathing). But this is a necessary thing.

 

You can give them a buff-like status that will say something about them "turning to the dark side" etc. etc. Trooper and Smuggler would probably just got hired by the empire.

 

This isnt really some minor issue. Go on ToFN for example and try queueing for the rep side outside prime time. Youll get like one queue pop every 15/30 minutes and even then its 5 reps vs 8 imps, with 3 reps quitting immediately on the first sign of loss. Im not sure if this is reversed on other server (as in imp side having less players), but if this faction imbalance is allowed to remain unsolved, people will simply abandon their faction and move to the one that has more players(maybe its even happening now).

I play on tofn, the situation became better now, reps even play ranked sometimes. They also even win ranked sometimes :D:D:D

PS: trooper got hired by the Empire? OKAAAY :D

This is like the bazillionth time this was suggested in the forums.

 

Here's a suggestion for you: post this somewhere where the devs will actually read it. Like, not the PVP forums.

 

Valid point. But the suggestions board probably wouldn't be good either. Maybe bug reports?

Think general discussion would work. We would need to make sure the overflow isn't bad though, or other people might as policy changes to "contain" pvp matters to the pvp forums.

In another MMO I play, they sort of fixed faction imbalance in something similar to fp here by only letting the same number of people into it from the other faction. So say there are 5 Republic and 9 Imperials queued, only 5 Reps and 5 Imps will be able to get in. That sort of worked, though the downside of that is pvp diminished somewhat as it would usually mean those who get in are the first ones who signed up. And, just to add (and most likely I've seen it mentioned here a few times already), in that game the fp is bracketed by levels so you won't likely run into a lvl 60 when you're just lvl 30. Open pvp areas are bracketed too--lvl 23-29 has its own area, lvl 30-39 its own, etc.

With the new story line, just make WZs be training simulations where Empire's and Republic's forces learn how to work together to defeat Revan and the Revanites.

 

As simple as that, and you have what you need to do crossfaction in a RP way.

 

THIS, not so hard. Also, do the same thing with pve ops daily and HM, and the game q is fixed, too hard BIOLOL ?
