carnac_fett
I'm questing through Taris right now and a lot of textures are really muddy and awful-looking. For instance, the floor of the abandoned hospital is this gray featureless surface. I had to use a computer which was just a gray lump with a green square in the middle. Also, whereas on other planets entering a cutscene would load higher-detail textures, on Taris it loads super low-detail textures instead. Lower than even the Low texture detail setting gives me. Then after the conversation finishes, it loads the higher-detail textures again. Almost makes me want to hold off on leveling this character and start a new one! Anyone having similar issues? Chassit
I have heard there are all sorts of issues on Taris, although I didn't really experience them (and I went through damn near everything there). So, if you are experiencing texturing issues, I would guess that they are real.

These are the decent textures I get outside of conversations: http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/276/cooltextures.jpg I enter a conversation and watch in horror as the game loads absolutely awful blurry textures in their place: http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/9422/waitstop.jpg Now this alien gets to lean against a featureless brown cube: http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/9010/damnitallz.jpg

carnac_fett
I have the latest drivers for my system but I'm going to try reinstalling them and seeing if that helps. It doesn't seem like anyone else is having this issue.
carnac_fett
Removed my drivers, scrubbed any trace of them from my PC, and reinstalled them. Same bug. I'm guessing this might be a problem for my specific type of video card, Radeon HD 5670.
carnac_fett
I decided to roll another class while I wait for the issue to get resolved. Here's hoping it gets fixed before I reach Taris a second time.
nuxtor
Check your ram useage. SWTOR is having huge memory leaks on my system, eating 3k MB ram if I usetextures above low setting. Before, I used to get the same symptoms as you, some textures were scaled down while other were smooth. Now I just get plenty of stuttering as the game loads new textures of the HD
Grieff
I've been playing on Taris now and I got some muddy texture problems, but they only occur after couple of hours, some memory related issue I guess

Textures look less detailed during normal gameplay but they don't scale down to blurry mud during conversations. I guess I can play like this!
