L-RANDLE
Dear BW, YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS? JUST ELIMINATE PVP GEAR ALL TOGETHER, GIMMIE SOMETHING WORTHY TO GRIND FOR, STOP BEING LAZY, AND QUIT EFFIN AROUND!!! Regards, ME
Z-ToXiN
What would you consider "worth grinding for"? If there isn't PVP gear, the only other things are aesthetic stuff, which most people won't really care about anyway... and playing for fun. Which is perhaps what it should be, play for fun and challenge, not for gear. But an MMO without a gear treadmill, that sounds preposterous! Glower
I think it's about fixing an GTN exploit in bioware-way i.e. with a hammer: Items + Economy All PvP Modifications sold on vendors are now Bind on Pickup. This includes Warzone and Ranked Warzone Modifications. So don't click too fast if you need 5 pvp mods to upgrade your gear...
L-RANDLE
It's not just that. It's now another money sink. At least there we some perks for playing on a character already geared, now you have to pay to give alts mods. Lump that on top of augments being questionable in PvP, it's about a PVPers Economies... Technohic
Hmm haven't looked at PvP mods individually but I know the loose PvE ones I can drop in my legacy storage and pick up on another toon.

znihilist
Let me explain this one, modifications and enhancements from PvP vendors used to be BoP, with 3.0 launch they suddenly became BoE. This unnoticed change (actually a bug) allowed people to trade, sell for credit and even post the items at the GTN. They fixed with 3.0.0b patch which for some reason OP thought it was all cool and dandy!

howieloader
How about you just find a weekly, "Add minimum 2018 EXP" thread, then maybe you will get it... Those threads are about ranked... Let's pretend for a second they did make a 2018 expertise requirement for ranked... So your whole thing is people should be able to buy PvP armor off the GTN, so they can get 2018 expertise, so they can do ranked without ever having really played any PvP on that character, which is more or less the same problem we have now just in a different form... #Amazing

You can get a full set playing lowbie, you can gift mods(at a cost) to alts that never stepped into one PvP match. Should that automatically qualify you for ranked? Anyway. Yeah, since they more or less "depreciated" a viable revenue stream, and people consistently complain about low pops and undergeared nubs, it makes a whole lot of sense.... Devilk
Double edged sword. On one hand, you have people that could potentially buy their gear and step into a match and know absolutely nothing about how to PvP. But that's not really different than the current playerbase that PvP's all the time, earns their gear and still don't know how to play. It just opens the door for more of that. I'm not sure how I feel about it, I think it would give PvP'ers a viable revenue source if they just want to straight up PvP, but crew skills are too easy to do. But it somewhat erases a constant complaint, which I have stated more times than I can count that gear isn't an issue. Give multiple avenues to gear up, because before we can talk Bout talent, there needs to be zero gear gap. I assumed having MODs BoE was throwing us a bone, and somewhat of an attempt to level the playing field even more. I guess we can look forward to more lopsided matches, regardless of which queue you are in...
Raansu
I assumed having MODs BoE was throwing us a bone, and somewhat of an attempt to level the playing field even more. I guess we can look forward to more lopsided matches, regardless of which queue you are in... Why would you assume that? We all know that mixing pve and pvp mods makes bolster not work correctly, so why would they make mods/enhancements BoE when you still need to buy the gear itself for the armoring? Leaving it BoE would cause all kinds of problems with people buying the mods fron the gtn and having pve armorings because they didn't buy the pvp shells yet from the vendor..... The mods being BoE is also counterproductive to BW's gearing system for pvp, which is intended for you to grind out the gear. I know you are a massive anti pvp gear person but use some common sense man. This was obviously a bug that needed to be fixed. BW's never going to change their pvp gear design. Technohic
I see the thought of making creds off of selling them, but people still need to know what to do with the things so I see no advantage other than those creds and for those who are aware creating maybe even a bigger gear discrepancy. If they really want to eliminate any gearing difference problem, the need to idiot proof it and make bolster hive an universal hard set of stats exactly 5% below that of an unmodded PvP set. Should be easier now seeing as the gear sets are more geared toward class and even discipline in the ones that have tank or heal options. No more guess work on what level of PvE gear screws expertise or how bad old PvP gear nerfs bolstered stats. L-RANDLE
wow. people will whine and moan about anything. Ain't you the same one that complains about BIS facerolling premades? @Raansu and Tech I want them to add armoring too! It's not so much about the making money part. It's about spending time or money on things that are not even BiS or even second best, 100% of the time. Buying gear is a staple of this game. It's was fine to be BoP when there was no bolster, but now, there is just no point. PvP gear actually functions better for PvE, with only minimal stat gains, YET, it will give access to gear. Isn't that step one to balancing PvP stats? "Forced linear REgression, for gear that may not be BiS". It's lame.
