Anzel
I would like to pause for a moment from my usual criticism and rhetoric and reflect on how much fun I'm having in game. Yes, I know that I am often outspoken, opinionated, etc. but I really do enjoy SWTOR and this most recent expansion was not only a blast to play through but also an amazing value considering the price. STORY The main reason that I started following SWTOR back at its inception. The story here was really great. I don't want to spoil anything but it definitely met my expectations and there were some really cool moments. Even if you never played KOTOR. NEW PLANETS I thought that both new planets were very well done. They style and design of each were unique and the maps are reasonable to navigate through. Great job. VOICE ACTING The voice acting for SoR was top notch. Again, I don't want to spoil the story for anyone but each of the main characters were superbly well done. Very believable. I didn't even look at my spacebar!!!! DISCIPLINES I have to say that I really really like the disciplines. For me it's a welcomed change and I'm having a great time going through all of my characters and experimenting. NEW GEAR I really like some of the new sets in both the packs and on the vendors in game. I also love that the comms were consolidated down a bit and I can get going almost right away with Basic comms. Great job. TRAINING FEES Not having to pay for training anymore is amazballz. I am all about QoL and convenience. Thank you for this. CONCLUSION I think the game is getting better and better with each release. For instance, I love that the main story is fully voiced but the daily missions are not. The NPC still speaks and there is some immersion there but I don't have to space through the same mission over and over and over again. I love that the speeders on the new planets are like the ones on Makeb where it cuts away. They are really really refining the game play and overall experience. Thank you! Essence_of_Light
I would hold off on thanking EA because they had practically nothing to do with the production of this expansion. I highly doubt EA sent some people down to Bioware Austin to supervise or help them out. Edited December 10, 2014 by Essence_of_Light

I highly doubt EA sent some people down to Bioware Austin to supervise or help them out. So there's this scene in Boogie Nights where Burt Reynolds introduces Mark Wahlberg to, "The Colonel". You see "The Colonel" provides all of the money for their projects. It's a very important part of the process

I completely agree, Anzel! The one disappointment I had with the expansion is that there are no cut scenes for NPC interactions on side quests for Rishi or Y4. Rather, you just hear the talk and get the mission box (e.g., cookie-cutter RPG format). Disappointing. That aspect discouraged me from bothering with side quests because that format doesn't engage you in a story the way the cut-scene format does. People who don't enjoy watching the cutscenes can just spacebar and read the quest summary in the mission log. No need to ruin the fun for the rest of us! chosonman
I agree for the most part but I'd like to add my list of disappointments. 1) No new skills. Skills are basically rehashes of existing ones with a minor buff and in some cases updated animation. 2) Same goes for crafting. Nothing really new in terms of mechanics we're just crafting "upgraded" version of what we've always crafted 3) Stat buffs - looks good on our stat sheet but mobs to more damage and we do less damage. Really it's just moving the numbers around to make it look like you're progressing. 4) No new PVP content I would have liked to see at least 1 fresh new skill for each class and not a rehash of an existing skill. As for crafting it would have been nice to see some new mechanics added like the ability to deploy collecting nodes or a new profession system. As for stats buffs, I guess there's only so much you can do to buff them without killing the legacy content so I can't really complain here. The lack of any new PVP content is also a let down. Other than that I'm enjoying the new content. Freshness is always welcome.
TheSeventhJedi
I have to say, while I would love to get MUCH more in a giant sized expansion (think several new planets, new playable races, mechanics, the works,) this xpac was certainly a better offering than 2.0 . I think it's a step in the right direction, shows the current team is able to discern between when they should and shouldn't listen to fan feedback, and genuinely wants the game to not suck. High hopes for 4.0.
TUXs
4) No new PVP content Not even A (singular) Warzone...not one...nada... I'm absolutely enjoying 3.0, but the lack of anything for PvP, is a HUGE disappointment and makes me laugh at the suggestion that 3.0 was an "expansion"..."expansions" that cater to only one type of player should be called updates. Expecting PvPers to now pay $20 for 3.0 or be stuck at 55, is an even bigger joke. I hope we hear what 3.1 has soon...because PvP could use about a half dozen maps in 2015. PvP needs to start getting some freaking love...
Anzel
I forgot about the CLASS MISSION! Man, I LOVED having that. I didn't realize how much I missed my class story until it popped up in my mission log. It was actually kind of sad LOL. I hope to see more of that
Ottoattack
I am still to reserve final judgment when I finish the expansion, but so far, there is not a story, but some random events involving SW, Revan and pirates. And I would not consider Rishi in the top 10 planets (and there is like 20-25?) and I heard Yarvin is even worse. I am neutral on the disciplines. They do not add anything or subtract anything from the game. As a PvPer the lack of PvP content is sad. Overall, I unsubbed half of last year due to lack of content. As far as 3.0 goes and overall game direction (ez mode FPs and lack of PvP content) I do not see me being a subscriber for majority of next year, if I even stay till the end of this year. Alaskangeek
I greatly enjoyed this expansion as well. I am disappointed that the servers never reach Very Heavy.....miss those days. Was hoping this expansion would break the Standard\Heavy status.

It's much better than repeatitive and boring cutscenes (that would kill the immersion and distract players from the main storyline), and much much better than boxes with walls of text (see: Czerka, Section X, Black Hole etc.). I hope they will stick to this idea for side and daily quests.
