Gobgrot
With the new faster experience/leveling system the people like me, who enjoy questing and the stories are being short changed. I know this has been asked for before but its really time. We need a way to be able to stop exp gain so we dont outlevel the quests we enjoy. Darth_Wicked
It is obvious you are either a masochist or have too much free time on your hands. Instant gratification is the path to salvation. On a more serious note, I do agree that outleveling content in this game is ridiculous to an insane degree, which is why it puzzles me every time someone asks for an additional crutch. I wouldn't mind a way to disable rested XP or Guild XP bonuses.

Darth_Wicked
Well you could always unsub and leave your guild So... Your solution would be for me to unsub, thus stop supporting the game in the process? In addition to that, leave the guilds I founded and invited people to? Including real-life friends? That is anathema to me.

I know this has been asked for before but its really time. We need a way to be able to stop exp gain so we dont outlevel the quests we enjoy. If you enjoy the STORY, your LEVEL is irrelevant. The STORY remains the same regardless your LEVEL. Quests do not become unavailable because you are higher level than they were intended for. Quest rewards also remain identical regardless of level, except for experience points, but getting 0 experience from a quest you dramatically over-level seems reasonable, right? The only thing being on-level does is provide a challenge so rudimentary that anyone without a physical disability might have to push more than 1 key to overcome it. Khevar
We need a way to be able to stop exp gain so we dont outlevel the quests we enjoy. If one of your concerns about being overleveled is the challenge, I suggest dismissing your companion for combat, as well as not upgrading your gear. Unless you've vastly outleveled the content, this will help bring some of the challenge back. Edited December 10, 2014 by Khevar

Ah, but you are missing a crucial part of the leveling game: flashpoints. I currently have a sage healer and I love the mechanics of being in a group and healing, but I also enjoy following the overall story arc that the game has. Therefore, I like to wait until I find the flashpoint quest givers on a planet, travel to the fleet, and then queue for and complete said flashpoint. Being overleveled messes up several parts of my enjoyment: 1. I cannot queue in group finder. I know some people have large guilds who will help out, but my guild is not enormous, and most of my guildies don't run low-level flashpoints. 2. Queuing instead for a level-appropriate flashpoint will put me ahead of where I am in my class story. Aside from just being against my playstyle to skip ahead like that, some flashpoint intro missions have spoilers for class stories. 3. In order to solo a flashpoint, I must be pretty extremely overleveled, not just the couple of levels that group finder considers too high (which is where I normally am). 4. Even if I am high enough to solo it, I do not get to practice my healing and group dynamics, which is my favorite part of a flashpoint. I am instead expected to roflstomp everything in my path. This makes many flashpoints quite dull, defeating my reason for playing them. Therefore, I fully support some sort of voluntary XP nerf, maybe as a legacy perk like the current xp boosts, or even as some sort of toggle in preferences. So you have this massive restriction you place on how you want to play, that is shared by a tiny fraction of the player-base, but somehow BioWare should spend developer hours solving that problem you've created for yourself instead of putting in new features and/or content that could be enjoyed by a much larger percentage of players? Yourself - get over it. Being overleveled messes up several parts of my enjoyment: 1. I cannot queue in group finder. Tyrloch
I don't see what the problem of creating a toggle to turn off XP would be. City of Heroes added it over 6 years ago. I am amazed by what the grossly undersized development team for CoH was able to accomplish 6-8 yeas ago that the larger houses like Blizzard and Bioware still cant figure out how to do now. SWTOR and WOW have Dev teams of 100-500, and still lack features the 17 guys at Paragon were able to come up with.... XP toggles, sidekick/exemplar system and so on. CoH had an achievement system 4 years before WoW did.

Not talking bout you specifically wicked, but y'all notice this is the same solution they offer to those of us who want the 12xp boost to return....ijs Edited December 10, 2014 by ImmortalLowlife
