Togruta or Rodians?

I guess Togruta, mainly because I don't know of any Rodians who speak Basic, which is a requirement for being playable.

Didn't they make a Hutt speak Common in Makeb? I'd love to see a race that really doesn't have a human-like face.

I'm sure they could very easily run an effect pass on all the dialogue for the player to 'tighten it up' to suit the race. Really, that wouldn't be much of a job at all.

Indeed I'd love to see a pitch shift slider on our character's voice, up a notch, or down a notch-- obviously not so far so it sounds silly. This would really add a lot more personalisation for not much work at all.

This question, in some form or another, is nearly as old as the forums, and not limited just to Rodians or Togruta.

I like the Rodians, but I am not sure that they fit any of the class stories very well.

I have suggested that certain popular "fringe" species could be introduced as their own classes with their own stories tailored for them.

So, for example, they could make Rodian a class with it's own story.

It would just mirror an existing class, so there wouldn't be any issues with balance.

For the species that fit more into what we already have, Weequay have grown on me.

They speak basic, we have seen them in-game as troopers and Jedi (and cannon fodder), and are plenty humanoid enough not to cause any double-takes with the romance angles.

They've already said that Togruta are next.....so the question of which one should be next is moot. By the way, Rodians aren't at the top of the list for some of the extensive player opinion polls on this issue that have been conducted for the last 3 years. Togruta, Nautolan, Kel Dor, Mon Calamari, etc. are all more popular overall with players than Rodians.

I mean it would be possible, it's just it would be a lot easier and smoother for them to implement a commonly basic speaking race with equal if not more demand.

I would of course prefer to see Rodians, so I can do a species change on my bounty hunter to recreate my old SWG character.

same my BH was rodian

but i dont see them making that race playable because that would mean redoing every single cutscene in the game with a rodian voice instead.

Which would you want as a possible next playable race?

I'd be happy with any new ones, always great to see new species.

Both, but Nautolan and Devaronian would also be nice.

And we should get 2, for 2 reasons:

1 - been very long since Cathar were released.

2 - Cyborgs need to be gone, since its just humans with some head implants.

I'd kill for a Devaronian Bounty Hunter. Hell, I'd even kill Gault.

Hmmm... There's an idea: Hutt player characters? Well, the new supplement for the FFG RPG "Edge of the Empire" includes rules for Hutt player characters, I believe. So if they can, why not us?

I would dearly love to see a Hutt Marauder force-leaping through the air. That would indeed be a sight to behold. :D

(Yeah, I know, never gonna happen, but it is still an hilarious thought.)

how about neither...I want Voss.

sure "lore-wise" it may not make too much sense...but it could be made too.

if we can get a "lore friendly" Ewok...they can do Voss as well.

And Voss certainly make more sense than Rodians (as far as class stories/romances go)

They could do it like SWG did when it first came out. If u pick a character that doesnt speak basic , others cant understand u untill u teach them ur language. They would see whatever language u speak come across the screen , butno translation untill someone trains them , thus making more situations where people need to interact and maybe giving them xp for it. Something like that anyways. Always thought that was a cool feature for swg.

Id like to see Togruta tho , as ive played bothan in swg. Any species thats new and different would be nice tho. Id like to see species specific abilities tho. Not pvp , but more pve oriented tho. Like some species have a connection to wildlife , thus making them immune to attacks from wild creatures , or other species dont get attacked by droids ( not counting bosses or champions of course) just some ideas

I would be inclined to think people want something new-- as in a non-human-faced species for a change.
