Cross-faction social interaction please

So, the game has been released for 3 years now, and I'm surprised that there are some social features that are missing from the game. And while I'm aware that they may very well be design decisions to emphasize that the two factions are meant to be at war with each other, but are, in fact, just limiting. I'm talking about cross-faction whispering and grouping. I am personally okay with no cross-faction guilds, as long as Strongholds can host both factions. Which, in and of itself shows that it's quite possible (and probably easy) to do.

So why isn't this a thing yet? And I understand that maybe I care about this only because I'm a roleplayer, but seeing as there are servers designated for this, it feels at least to me like Bioware is simply trying to make things harder on us.

As RPsus I must strive to uphold the highest standards of roleplaying possible, sadly this idea is simply unacceptable.

Only in the worst of circumstances should the guardians of the republic and the filthy imperial dogs freely communicate. At this moment it is simply not the case.

Please don't try to harm the glory of roleplaying with offensive threads like these.

That's a rather hilariously idiotic position to take, given current events in the storyline.

Not at all, the current story is an extreme circumstance, and does not validate having constant friendly communication with filthy imperials.

Don't question RPsus.

Good job keeping this thread serious, guys.

You do realize I'm being completely serious right? Diminishing the integrity of the lore is damaging to roleplayers, and as the spokesperson for roleplayers in swtor I can assure you that things like this are unacceptable.

I plead with you to reconsider your view on this important subject.

Really now? Spokesperson for RP in SWTOR, are you?

Guess what? The lore is meaningless because it's all non-canon now that there's new movies being made. So if you could just trot off, that's be great.

The lore is not Dependant on Disney's view of what is canon or not, the lore is based in the game itself, regardless if it is deemed canon or not.

Please show some respect and don't try to devalue the amazing game Bioware has made, the stories, characters and planets are so full of amazing lore of the highest detail.

And then people like you come along and try to trash it as if its nothing.

For shame.

First of all RPus likely isn't even a roleplayer, he's just a troll mocking us. and not a particularly entertaining one at that eaither.

regarding cross faction stuff, I oppose it. the factions are AT WAR. yes the events on Yavin IV where a colition but those where one time situations in an exceptional case. no need for us to be able to queue in cross faction stuff. if you wanna group with the empire, roll an Imp.

I'm sorry you feel so negatively against your representative, who funny enough was trying to defend the viewpoint you yourself have.

Regardless, as Brian said, the factions are at war, if Bioware decides to bring a peace treaty of sorts into the story then maybe cross faction communication would be appropriate.

I'm going to have to disagree with you RPsus. Because the two factions are at war is even more of a reason for cross-faction interactions. Personal grudges can be made, or backdoor alliances. You can't bring a war to an end without interaction and talking to each other. It's a golden rp opportunity that shouldn't be wasted.
