Darth_Angarus
So i began playing my sorcerer again, now my question is the following. Is it possible to get some kind of expertise gear to start off with? because right as of now im playing PvP with no expertise gear and as a sorc im constantly targeted first and die within ten seconds. It's frustrating as you kinda lose the will to keep on playing.
Zoom_VI
Bolster gives you expertise for free, there is no way its possible to be in a warzone and have zero expertise.
Darth_Angarus
Let me correct myself, are there any experise modifications that you can buy to kinda 'bolster' your gear + the bolster you get in PvP?

SlimGenre
you can purchase war hero crystals off the gtn I believe, but that's only 41 pts expertise, so 82 total in mainhand and offhand. It's a grind, but if you pvp for an hour or two a night, you'd be surprised how quickly those comms come, and your first set of gear is fairly cheap. Honestly, for the time being you're better off wearing the best quality pve gear you have and suck it up. A lot of pvp is also situational awareness, it's less about having that perfect pve operations dps rotation and more about knowing what skill to use when. Someone who's run 1000 warzones but puts on pve gear would probably still beat someone who was in top pvp gear but had never pvp'd before because it's a different playstyle. But keep it up, although this isn't a pvp focused game, the pvp is a lot of fun, and the more of us that play it, the more likely devs are to focus some attention, new maps, etc.
teclado
It would be helpful to know what level your character(s) are. If you are below 60, there is no "PVP gear" that you can currently purchase. That is to say, there is no gear that you can currently purchase that comes with expertise on it. You can get war hero crystals, but that is generally a bad idea (more on this below). With 3.0, BW made changes to the way bolster works in warzones, and nobody really understands the changes fully right now. From what I have been able to gather, it looks like your best bet in 10-59 is to just wear the best PVE gear that you can get. However, do not exceed a gear rating of about 162, otherwise bolster will start taking away expertise, which will really nerf your performance. So, for example, I have a fresh 55 character that I leveled during the x12 XP event. He is currently wearing leveling greens. I'm going to get him the 162 set that can be acquired via the Forged Alliances story arc. I haven't tested this personally yet (I've been playing with my 55s that have the 2.0 PVP sets so far), but from what I have read on these forums, it looks like a gear rating of 162 will be the sweet spot. TLDR: Bolster is complicated and messy and makes figuring out what is the best gear short of the new PVP gear complicated and messy. Just go with the best PVE stuff that you can get that is at 162 rating or less until you hit 60, then get the new PVP gear at 60. Let me correct myself, are there any experise modifications that you can buy to kinda 'bolster' your gear + the bolster you get in PvP? Also, do not mix PVE and PVP mods. This will result in bolster giving you bad stats in a warzone. Expertise caps at 2018, so if you can get it to 1900+, you should be OK. If you do nothing other than wear PVE gear at or below 162 rating, you should get at least 1900 expertise. BW tried to make bolster really simple for the casual PVP player, such that they can just hop into a warzone with whatever PVE gear they are wearing and be competitive, while adjusting for the really high end PVE stuff (180 rating or higher) by nerfing expertise for the high end PVE gear. With the really high end stuff, you'll see anywhere from 1000 expertise to 1600. Since the expertise stat grants a maximum of a 60% damage bonus and 37.5% damage reduction (at 2018 expertise), you can see how really low expertise can result in a bad time.
