Corruption Sorc - What Augs?

I normally run with no extra crit on my gear and ~73% surge, ~8% alacrity, and resolve augs. I'm trying to figure out if I should go to overkill augs instead since I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information now saying that you would need a 100% surge in order to benefit from the main stat crit boost. Thoughts?

I currently have full wp augs and am satisfied with the results. Increased by crit chance by about 1.1% though ymmv depending on your starting wp (I'm mostly in 168 pvp gear with a couple 174s). I think we still have a passive ability that increases wp by 6% (at work and can't confirm) and if that's the case then wp should be more beneficial than pwr anyway.

Even after the nerf, mainstat is still a pretty strong stat. so there is no one reason to put mainstat for any secondary stat off. Even ap is not an option. (this is just for augments)

 

Dropping off all of your mainstat augments, you will loose a big amount of critchance. To mitigate this, you have to put some critrating on your gear -> this reduces your Attackpower, because attackpower and critrating are sharing the same stat slot. If you have already some critrating in your equipment, don't forget the DR.

 

Every single rating stat cannot compare against mainstat or attackpower (except accuracy rating till cap)

Currently my plans are to slot Overkill augments. I haven't seen anything to change that on my healer. For a DPS maybe main stat but the pro main stat arguement was thin before with the plus 6% to main stat. Now that we don't have it only tilts things more to Overkill.

 

The only thing that may change is the loss of crit from the tree may force me to augment some crit or put a couple of crit surge. The amount of crit gained from main stat seems minor.

Tbh with so many gear pieces having crit it will take so long to min/max that might as well go for the non-traditional approach of wp augments at start. Then again though, the difference in healing/damage bonus between overkill and resolve augments is so tiny after the class buff that might as well save all the cost to replace them later and follow tradition by gearing with resolve augs. The amount I gained from full wp augs was about equal to a piece of +crit gear. Happy with the results. Probably worth it and probably not a noticeable difference either way.
