Reverse Engineering in 3.0

That's not how I am experiencing RE'ing in 3.0. Basically there are 2 primary stats and 2 secondary stats on green schematics (<450). There are now different prefixes for blue schematics above skill 450 which add two secondary stats instead of one. That can result in anything between 4 and 6 stats on the schematic. These prefixes are a subset of the old purple prefixes and share the same stats. For instance Expert adds Power and Surge. For purple schematics the prefix is replaced by another purple prefix (or it stays the same) thereby replacing the added stats. That can result in a different amount of stats compared to the blue schematic it is taught from. Again there can be anywhere from 4 to 6 stats total on a purple schematic.

I am currently writing up a blog post explaining it in a bit more detail and will probably post a link on this forum when done.

From what I've experienced and read about it goes like this:

Green item has endurance, mainstat, and 2 secondary stats. I can't say for the tank stuff cause I gloss over it but there's a power/accuracy and crit/surge of all 4 main stat variants, and a power/alacrity of cunning, willpower, and aim. When these are RE'd, they can have one of 3 variants: Expert (Power/Surge), Veracity (Shield/Defense), and Fervor (Critical/Accuracy). These prefixes add a small (at least 12, possibly more) of both of their stats to the item.

Each blue RE's into 3 further complimentary combos so that tank stat/dps stat combos don't exist anymore, nor does presence. These new prefixes then determine how much of a stat is added to said item. 1 of the prefixes that each RE's into is just an upgraded version of itself. So Expert can RE to Expert, Hawkeye (Power/Accuracy) and Vehemence (Power/Alacrity). Fervor turns into Fervor, Endowment (Critical/Surge), and Supremacy (Critical/Alacrity). Veracity is a little different because they added absorb as a possible secondary and got rid of presence and surge. It now turns into Veracity, Exactitude (Defense/Accuracy) and the new Shielded (Defense/Absorb).

Noticed as well. I think it's because the blues are now increasing the main stats/endurance on crits from green, whereas before we only could tack on secondary stats for things like implants, earpieces, and the like. Also, for augments and mods, crafted blues are lvl 56 items, and BiS for that level (as far as I can tell at least) and these also have stat/end increases. When we go to purple, it seems the main stat/endurance increase as well, though in some cases, the tacked on secondary stats drop away and/or meld into a larger secondary stat pool. Here is an example:

Earpiece

Green Bulwark MK-2:

172 Strength

177 End

79 Accuracy

84 Absorption

Veracity Bulwark MK-2 (Blue):

199 Strength

205 End

79 Accuracy

84 Absorption

12 Shield

14 Defense

Shielded Bulwark MK-2 (Purple):

222 Strength

231 End

79 Accuracy

111 Absorption

23 Shield

I like the main stat/end increases with each crit. I'm not sure I'm in love with the disappearing secondary stats from blue to purple. But overall, if I had to pick, I'd go with this system (and so far, no "General's", "Commander's," "Leadership", presence stuff).
