So about those SOLO versions of the Flashpoints, and the GSI bot

I loved that you have story versions of those Flashpoints, and the GSI bot was cool...but personally i'd much rather in solo instances if we could just summon 3 of our Companions instead. That would of been far more interesting then some super mech following me around.

I agree, having a group composed just of companions would have been nice. The GSI droid feels wrong, I mean after all the stories in the game in which I am the hero I simple get a machine that can do everything better (I mean really, in the forged alliance I have not even to attack, the droid can pull of each encounter on its own), that ruins somewhat of my immersion, but I guess that is what we are stuck with for now.

Anyway, would be nice if the two ilum and the two Czerka flashpoints would also get a solo option once for story reasons, so people can do them close to level they are supposed to do. Maybe BioWare could do at least those solo versions with a companion group in mind instead of the GSI droid.

It would be great to do elite content it with your companions. I've been replaying some Dragon Age 2 lately in prep for Inquisition and really enjoying how having three companions opens up combinations, dialogue, etc.

Plus, it would be nice, just once, to see the Trooper scream over his shoulder "Move out, Havoc Squad!" and have an actual squad there instead of one lone dude who nods politely at the crazy person.

I'm sure it would have required much more programming to be able to utilize 3 companions simultaneously as the entire system has been designed around 1 active companion. Considering that these are only 1 time solo flashpoints so you can play through the "story" part solo, it would have been a waste of time and resources to re-design things to allow for 3 companions just for a one-time story mode play through of these flashpoints.

Now that they have the tech, they could retro-fit the droid into any solo-mode flashpoint. Except maybe Collocoid War Game? Haven't solo players been clamoring for that?

I agree that it would be more interesting with our companions than it is with the droid.

You couldn't have your companions do it...they lack the skills the GSI Droid was designed with. Great wish, but it'll never happen with your companions.

Hey TUX, why is that? I'm not into tech stuff, but to me it doesn't seem impossible to, lets say, Mako, Torian and Skadge effectively replace The Jesus Droid.

Would be cooler, would be more immersive and (hopefully) should be possible?

Why not? It just needs an appropriate buff to bring the companions up to the required power, threat and healing levels. There would need to be a a few companion AI tweaks too so they work as a team. Perhaps some of the AI in the GSI bot could be re-purposed for this.

I'd love to see solo story mode versions of all FPs in the game that you can re-run solo with a team of companions, preferably with the mobs scaling to your level so they are a fun challenge when run with your companion team.

There doesn't need to be any significant loot attached to them, perhaps just a chance of some cosmetic items or a decoration or two, or a quest reward. But nothing which would discourage people from grouping properly for the full version where the real rewards are.

And before anyone throws in the "it's a MMO" line, MMOs are different things to different people and even the most group-focused players don't want to group 24/7. It's good to play with a group some of the time, with your guild, friends or even PUG. But when it comes to getting immersed in the story it's better to go at your own pace without someone yelling "SPACEBAR" at you.

A proper buff might make our comps powerful enough to handle it.

But that said, I would be more than happy with just the droid. In fact, I would love to see solo mode for all STORY MODE flashpoints, and see them scale for groups.

I think that HMs and Ops need to remain untouched by the casual friendly wand.....folks should have access to difficult content.

agreed. HMs and Ops should be for the 'hardcore' folk.

Story progressing content -for everyone

Yea I'm not even concerned about loot from it, I just think it'd be cool to have some Story Mode flashpoints like this where you take 3 of your companions similar to Mass Effect and Dragon Age and the other Bioware titles.

It could give no loot as all far as i'm concerned.. I just think it'd be something cool story wise they could do.

Since we're talking about the solo FP's, I have a (sort of on topic, sort of off topic) question: are they repeatable, or do you run them once and that's it?

I ask because the other night I was bored and thought I would do Tython again for the heck of it, but when I grabbed the mission it didn't have the "SOLO" tag in front of it.

People seem to be missing the MM part of MMORPG.

By that logic, many people miss the RP part of MMORPG as well. Unless you assume everyone actually role plays.

Massively Multiplayer simply means people play in the same world together. It does not mean they necessarily have to play together as a group, although that is obviously one of the options and one of the draws to the model. I'm hoping one day this tired argument is put to rest, but my guess is that won't happen.
