Lightning/ Telekinetics

It never was a viable option and it still not. Lets be honest players play the tree/talent just when they feel ill an bored by madness/balance.

Maybe on papper it's ok, and has propper numbers in dps, but we can't compair it's viability with the other tree/talent.

 

Madness/balance is great strong tree talent till pvp, but Lightning/ Telekinetics always was a torture and still is. I try and try from time to time to roll with it, but I always end up questioning my self: Why the hell I don't play the other 10× more viable tree/talent?

 

If you feel the same, please support the thread, maybe it coul grow up to a suggestion to do something with Lightning/ Telekinetics, coz madness/balance starts to get incredibly boring.

haven't played ranked yet but in regs lightning is totaly viable imho.

 

edit: what is wrong with it in your opinion? with thundering blast on the move it becomes very mobile and you can pick up the same utilities that madness can

Some how with all classes I was able to manage the feel, that my rotations are smooth and I always was able to build up and improvisate a few alternative scenarios till matches. With Lightning/ Telekinetics, it feels like, that the talent still has one way of rotation scenario like it does befor 3.0 since the game launch, and if you get disturbed, you can't make a viable improvisation. Actually if you can't connect all skills in this one way rotation, you end up by landing dmg like a healer sorc/sage without dmg skill support talent, just you don't have the healing skills : )

 

In my opinion, the Telekinetik burst, Disturbance / Lightning strike, Lightning bolt skills should be insta cast, with there cast / activation time cool-down. In this case the talent would have the same dps but would leave more space for beeing playful and handle, improvisate till situations when your rotation is disturbed.

i mean sure it plays similar to before 3.0, so if you didn't like it then you probably still don't like it :-)

 

But dude lightning got massive mobility buffs; thundering blast on the move is awesome, it works in the air as well; 2 insta lightning bolts with force speed, insta lightning blast with 1.2 sec crushing darkness, the same insta chain lightning from before, i'm honestly more afraid that they will take some things away than add more, we are super mobile now.

 

Overall damage might be a bit lower than madness, but it's way more bursty, so i think it's a fair trade off, and madness is imo more dependent on standing still to get wrath procs, while lightning can make do with instants when standing still would be a bad idea. I think lightning is one of the strongest specs in 8 mans at the moment.

Thanks for the heads up : ) I'm testing it, how can I improve my self to play the talent on the same lvl as madness/balance but still no sucsess : )

 

Even if I make a match where I can set up my position perfectly, I dodge all death, and keping up my rotation perfectly, my dmg will be around 500k : D till with madness/balance I can do a million...

 

I testing the mods now, spend tones of wz coms : ) I wanna max out alacrity to have a try with that, but still it seems that it's the last stat what could help me. Maybe surge till 75 and some power woul work better.

I've been a madness fan since launch... Lightning never had enough mobility for me in pvp...

But now that it does... it is totally viable... I am getting good numbers 700k+... But I am still learning the spec... So expect that will increase more... Plus I like the animations of the abilities... Lol... They look heaps better than Madness

I've seen lightning spec players over 1 mil

Bolt is instant. 3 instant bolts in a rotation.

 

Problem is it isnt kind on the ears.

First of all I have no experience with madness or RANKED games so I cant tell which discipline is the best. I will however, claim that lightning/tk is indeed very viable for reg wz's, its hard to get under 500k damage and 200k heal per game unless you're playing blindfolded.
