gathering range for companions decreased

Did the range to send out a companion to gather nodes get decreased?

I thought I used to send them from farther away to get nodes.

Comps are just bugged atm. Sometimes, they just stand still and do nothing instead of following you, attacking mobs or gather nodes.

Happens all the time these days, that i'm running into a group of mobs and my companions is standing 20m behind me, enjoying the pleasant view... *stares at Ashara*

I know they goof up because of lag sometimes but are we sure their new short distance for me to send them to get a node is really a bug?

I don't think we will know for sure until the lag is fixed again or at least a little better.

it could have been an unintended change .. just one not mentioned .. or just the fact lag is intense at time (I know I hate standing there while nothing happens for 5 to 10 seconds since usually the next thing is the option to spawn there or go to medical bay)

I've been sending my companions to harvest nodes in the far distance same as always - unless they run into a pathing issue due to the terrain (and there are a lot of 'hang-up' spots on Yavin it seems) I haven't had any issues or seen any new range limit.

If I can see the node, I can click the node and my companion at least makes an attempt to get to it, and usually succeeds.
