Transairion
So the worst part of Shadow of Revan for me was the fact I didn't recieve a single Basic comm throughout the entire expansion. Why? Because I was over the 1000 cap (due to the old comms converting), and the 2000 "overflow" doesn't allow for new comms, only old ones. So every comm from every quest on Rishii and Yavin just poofed into non-existance. "Why not just spend comms?" you ask. Well, because all of the 55 comm gear I can buy is a downgrade. I'd gladly purchase level 60 gear, but it gives a big fat "you need to be level 60 to buy this": so my choices are essentially gain no comms until 60, or waste them on junk.... or I suppose do something of a buy/sell exploit which I'm not fond of. Essentially, it feels very punishing to be over the cap and have nothing to spend it on and go the ENTIRE EXPANSION without gaining any comms (landing on Rishi alone gave me almost 300 comms that poofed into non-existance), so please allow us to buy 60 gear at 55 and just not let us equip it until that actual level. Being prepared sort of made my feel very punished and that isn't good. Edited December 5, 2014 by Transairion
Khevar
Did the "buy comm gear" / "sell back before timer expires" stop working or something?

Khevar
That was what I meant by Oops. I missed that. Well, good luck in your request. Seems unlikely, but what the heck. Edited December 5, 2014 by Khevar
Darcmoon
How did the comms you got from getting to Rishi just poof? I got mine in 3 seperate comm boxes. I was over the 1000 comm cap and just left them in the boxes. They are sitting in my bank until I decide to pull them out.

I wasn't on the PTS and it was my first time through so I just opened them automatically before realizing that they weren't actually going to add to my Basics count. You can attribute that to user error I suppose and obviously I won't be doing that on any of my alts, but I'm not going to do everything perfectly the first time through. Other comms were almost entirely added to quests which granted exp so I couldn't really not accept them while still progressing.
Swordy
It is totally a user error issue. More to the point, you're complaining that you can't buy l60 gear at 55 because you're already in raid gear and have not given a single thought to how this new mechanic could break the entire levelling process for those not in raid gear/newly huit
LadyVix
I have plenty of Lv55 alts sitting idle from 12x EXP, so after all the commendations were converted Tuesday I transferred most of my basic commendations to those characters. I also spent some to upgrade my companions to 172 gear. It only takes a few minutes to transfer, and I was able to progress without losing anything. I wasn't on the PTS/BETA either. I have my auto loot enabled. I will admit that I knew from the information that was released that the cap was going to be 1000 with a one time overflow to 2000 for the conversion. If you opened them and hit loot without waiting to assess what was in them, that is definately user error. Especially since the icon for the boxes are the basic comm itself. I am surprised that all of your companions had 172 gear already. That is how I got my comms down below the 1000 cap. I just bought the mods off the vendor. It only takes a few minutes to transfer, and I was able to progress without losing anything. I made that mistake as well. As soon as you go to Rishi, you get a Bind on Legacy companion main hand that is better than my char's full 180, and totally outclassed the 172 main hand I had just upgraded for my companion. I've heard you can also get a similar companion off hand, not sure about anything else. But so far I don't regret upping my companion to 172 armor. More to the point, you're complaining that you can't buy l60 gear at 55 because you're already in raid gear and have not given a single thought to how this new mechanic could break the entire levelling process for those not in raid gear/newly huit 55 Well, being able to buy but not use level 60 gear is still better than being able to buy and not use level 55 gear because it's subpar to what I'm wearing (and what my companions are wearing). This isn't full Dread Master Elitism either, it's simple 180's from the previous Ultimate vendor. I mean if the level 55 gear is an upgrade for someone, there's no issue, but there should be SOMETHING one can do without exploiting, something you can actually spend comms on that's worthwhile. I would've certainly bought Isotope 5 still if they were usable or at all desired. You can't tell me just because someone is "geared" they should go through an entire expansion without getting any comms.
