Are you talking about snipers and marauders? If so, sorry to steal your thunder, but they were in bad places in 2.10, as well. To make either of those viable in 2.10, you needed to take them into PVP as part of a full premade. Without a tank to swap guard to you and a healer to heal you, both of those classes melted like butter flying into the sun. As far as viability goes, nothing has changed for them at all. You still need a full premade to get anything done with them.

Man you did steal my thunder. I was just being snarky but you have a point. And to that point, does anyone think they are better or worse (outside the sniper/marauder community)?

Woah Technohic, you changed your avatar. I didn't realize it was you at first haha.

 

Anyway, so far I have run a few warzones with my sage/sorc, vanguard, and guardian. I've run a little bit of balance and TK on my sage, tactics on my VG, and vigilance on my guardian. I think damage output for those classes feels about on par, although the waters of clarity are a bit muddied by bolster now since I no longer have the top level pvp gear or augments.

 

I haven't tried my sentinel or marauder yet. I don't have a leveled sniper or gunslinger because I hate the cover mechanic - I really like mobile classes.

 

Out of my toons that I have tried out thus far, I would rank my favorites as such:

1. Tactics VG (haven't tried the pyro version)

2. TK Sage (much more mobile now)

3. Vigilance Guardian (feels exactly the same, which is rather OP, but the same...therefore kind of boring)

4. Balance Sage (removing the cooldown on sever force actually kind of messes with my head a bit now).

 

Regarding sever force...sometimes I wonder if it actually activated since I can't just look to see if it is on CD now and since it is not necessarily going to root the target (can only happen every 9 seconds). Sometimes LoS or lag issues happen, so I have probably used it twice in a row a few times and wasted a GCD (thinking that it didn't hit the target).

not trying to hijack, but MM/SS, Sniper/GS, respectively, now only require cover for 4 abilities. But, cover still provides defensive benefits, as well as a slight boost to energy regen.

 

Really enjoying the new Tactics tree in VG.

 

Ok, back to how pure DPS classes are garbage. :)
