3.0 Madness Sorcerer Fun and OP

So i just got my (Madness) sorc to level 57, where i got my "Demolish", so i jumped into a wz, and i did 800k damage with 1000+dps and was still the second most healing player. I feel like the class has become very fun and op with Demolish. It became very easy to 1v1 and burst people down with Demolish plus all the other dots and stuffs. So have any of you tried it?

Too much hard casting in lightning tho. E

 

Out of interest over anything else, did you play it with the changes? To be honest the hardcasting required is low, and when required its with cast times never surpassing 1.4-1.5 seconds without being geared for alacrity. Looking good for our since-launch-useless-PvP-spec to be honest

TK right now:

 

decent burst with pretty much no build-up

with right utility can stay alive for very long (I do up to 500k healing in wz with no healers when i'm focused a lot)

probably one of the best 1v1 specs in the game currently

more mobile than madness/balance

 

cons:

less overall damage than madness, who cares

A good madness sorc can exceed 2000 dps in a wz. With an additional 30% or so hps on top of that.

 

Depends on the WZ. Ironically if you're team is doing really well it's pretty hard to get high DPS (according to the scoreboard) because you will end up spending most of your time waiting for the other team to respawn.

My TK sage surely is a lot of fun, but I feel I do rather little damage. I don't die as much now (unless we are getting stomped) which means I am casting almost non stop. And yet I see other sages getting 800k when I get 400k and 1.2 mio when I hit 600k. I have no idea whether this is caused by spec (Balance Vs. TK) or by gear. Don't get me wrong, I respect that others might be better than I, but not to that extend and that often. I have played this darn game to long for that. Edited by Lundorff

I've seen a few Lightning Sorcs outdamage Madness Sorcs at 60. But that could be a skill variation rather than spec or gear superiority.

People are doing better than me, how is it not my fault?

What exactly am I looking at? Is that supposed to be impressive?

 

No, seeing as it is my server I get his point. Sorcs and sages are abound and currently FOTM with a vengeance in the shape of lightning/tk. I had a warzone where 10 of the 16 were sages/sorcs.
