Heat-Wave
Can i haz ur stuff? You make the joke, and many others will too... This feels a lot like change for the sake of change... Will it drive older players away? Yes (how many we don't know yet). Will it bring new players in? No, I don't think this makes that much of a difference, it isn't a fence sitting thing like GSH might have been. It hurts the game without really helping it. Sangrar
I am trying it out, I don't see the big deal, in fact some of the new stuff introduced is kind of cool, been experimenting on some of my guys, I don't see it as combat breaking or gamebreaking, but then again thats just my personal opinion

No, I don't think this makes that much of a difference, it isn't a fence sitting thing like GSH might have been. It hurts the game without really helping it. I actually already contacted EA and they approved a refund for the expansion...I mean if others do the same thing...it will really hurt the game. I wish you guys the best of luck. Maybe I will try it in the future, who knows. However, I have been sober from WoW since Cata so it may be a while before I come back. Anyways, good luck and I hope you have a better experience with this expansion than I have.

Sangrar
This feels a lot like change for the sake of change... well here is the thing, if they continued to add points to the skill trees every time we added levels, it was going to keep throwing balance off, we saw what it did with 2.0 where Scoundrels and Operative healers were overpowered to a near ridiculous degree for a long while. In the end this system makes it easier to do balancing changes and to add more levels without running into that problem.

Heat-Wave
Only if you haven't followed along with any of the reasoning or given any thought to it. No, I actually get the reason for the change to skill trees, that I don't have a major issue with... It will take adjustment, but I'll live with that. It is the NERF that is the problem... Actually, I totally agree with you there, that was a problem and had to be addressed. But that doesn't mean they had to change abilities. Why does my gunslinger no longer have snipe? Max_Killjoy
Only if you haven't followed along with any of the reasoning "Reasoning"... heh. More like what they thought would be the path of least resistance... and a lot of excuses. Reasoning wouldn't have lead them to where they are now, an expansion full of bugs and screwy decisions. Gandrake
New expansion sucks. Going the way of SWG and many other games that were good enough and now are just unplayable. Way to go! There was a time when you asked for player suggestions and when they were given you said you just weren't going to be that kind of a game. Then don't *********** ask for our opinions. Worst over all customer service experience of any game in creation too.

RodneyMcNeely
I actually LOVE the Discipline System. It feels more streamlined while firmly clinching the niche of each spec into place. And with the Utilities, I feel like I'm having to make hard, meaningful choices that actually affect how I'm going to play. I understand some folks don't like it, but this honestly feels like a change that had a great deal of thought put into it. YMMV
Reno_Tarshil
The new skill trees are a vast improvement over the old ones. Lower levels for core abilities and passives. So new players can really learn their spec and not feel gimped.
LordArtemis
Well, personally I think a bit more testing was in order. I don't think this was tested properly, or perhaps they chose the wrong folks to test it. Some of the changes seem silly to me, simply made because the devs thought "it didn't feel right", which IMO is NEVER a reason to change something that the playerbase generally enjoys. The system itself needed a change IMO. I am not sure this was the way to go, but I think it can work quite well with a few changes..... 1) Expand utilities but disable certain ones in group content, including PVP. 2) Move all damage boosts, mitigation, etc into the utilities area and leave actual abilities in the tree only. 3) Reverse some of the silly changes, like taking away OS/FF from certain builds or requiring their use in cover. 4) If your going to push melee for certain builds, make them feel like melee classes....shorter cooldowns, reduced damage. The action needs to be much more furious. 5) Allow folks to switch disciplines if desired, for a fee. 6) Save ability build bars to make switching inside a discipline a simple affair. 7) Ranged classes need one heavy hitting attack that requires either a long buildup or cover. 8) Healing was nerfed FAR too much. It needs to be boosted about 20 percent across the board, and resource cost increased 15 percent. It was silly, IMO, to have such terrible healing performance and almost never use any appreciable amount of resource. 9) Mitigation needs to be increased about 5 percent across the board. Also, many of the silly changes made to directly benefit PVP need to go. Instead, you have proven that you can add abilities that supplant others.....things like 360 degree overload need to return, but should not work in PVP. Instead, PVP should get it's own special ability, or at least modify the current ability to work properly in PVP. The animation trigger at the beginning instead of the end is my biggest change pet peeve. This, IMO, ruined most of the brilliant combat animations in the game. This needs to be returned to proper operation.
WorldSmasher
Thanks a lot. I'm done with this game... Using proper English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, I will make this request of you Acito. Please, liquidate all of your in-game assets and mail the credits to my character. Contact me, via private message to get the name of the alternate character, which I will create for the purpose of conducting this transaction. Thank you. P.S. If you find any spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors, then ignore my request.
Pantokratorx
I prefer the new system, though I think here and there they should have given more exciting utilities, a big part of them are boring, a few % here and there. Actually they should have implemented more from the new WoW talents where the choices affect mechanics and give you different skills/spells. Having a little extra % or reduced CD here and there is just meh...
arunav
My only critique is too many abilities were removed, and, for the most part, the new animations aren't nearly as well-made as the older ones. There are exceptions, like the replacement for Force Sweep/Smash for Guardians/Juggernauts - those are pretty incredible. But most of the new ones are tepid compared to how detailed and full the launch animations were. Again, like so many things in SWTOR nowadays, feels like it was done on the cheap. And that's the part I really don't get. If the game is making 100M+ annually, how much more can it cost to make nicer animations? Or have cutscenes for sidequests in the expansion (it's not like there were that many on Rishi to begin with)? Or have companions say things in areas as you walk into them, or have affection reactions to your responses? Jawsers
Don't worry guys. According to the metrics we should only be around the same level of DPS just before 3.0 hit.
Turajin
I think here and there they should have given more exciting utilities, a big part of them are boring, a few % here and there. [...] Having a little extra % or reduced CD here and there is just meh... That's the part of the new system that annoys me the most: where are those promised "meaningful" choices? So far, I haven't found them. Almost all of the utilities are stuff tht seems to have only minor impact on actual gameplay (especially if you are not doing pvp-stuff or endgame content). This, combined with the fact that we only get a meager 6 or 7 picks along the whole wa to max-level, is what makes me dislike the new system. Either add many more utilities and give us back "1 pick per level" system (or at least 1 pick every other level) as we had before - the option of having to decide something at every level or at least every other level is, from my point of view, an important thing of the levelling process and the character customization that runs along with it - or revamp the utilities that there is actually something that you really want, utilities that make you go "wow, that rocks, that's the stuff I want", so that you are really looking forward to get those next 7 levels fast because then you can pick this awesome utility. The way it is at the moment, it is like "new level, nothing to do... boring", and when you finally reach a level where you can pick a utility, it is not like "wich do I want", but rather a "wich one is the least ****** one?". So, from my point of view, the system needs one of two fixes: either many more utilities with one pick per level/every other level, or a complete doover of all the utilities to stuff that really rocks.
