Why 3.0 pvp is going to be a disaster

Currently sorcs/sages and sins/shadows are outperforming. So what does bw do? They buff sorcs and sins. It's one of the most absurd things I've seen in this game. I'm already seeing 50% of pvp classes playing inquisitors in anticipation of 3.0. Of course this wouldn't be the first time they buff the strongest class and nerf the weakest.

Even I'm jumping on the bandwagon and I'll be playing a sin and/or sorc, I made one of each and I plan on using them. But is this good for the game? 3.0 isn't even out and everyone already knows that the following classes are going to be wrecking people.

 

1. Sorc/sage

2. Sin shadow

3. Juggs guardians

4. Pts vanguards

These classes are going to underperform

5. Snipers/gs

6. Mara/sentinel

And these classes should just be deleted

7. Operatives/scoundrels

8. Mercenaries/troopers

 

I think sorcs sage are so powerful it may even be game breaking. Feel free to pick my opinion apart.

My current problem with swtors balance is that in 4 v 4 the buffs to sages/sorcs doesn't hurt anything. It only breaks 8 v 8 and honestly in 8 v 8 sorcs and sages are easy but I wouldn't say op. Balancing ranked arenas and 8 v 8 regs really isn't possible. If we didn't have 4 v 4 I think we would be the closest to balanced we have ever been imo.

are we talking 8v8, yolo ranked or 4v4 ranked?

Honestly don't have any problem with Sins of any spec. Sorcs, on the other hand, are just stupid. At least sins have to be in melee range and all the crap that that entails, they are extremely squishy.

 

But the top of my list is Juggs at the moment. They are just ridiculous.

I just had to cackle like an old hen at that bit. You people are just horrible; my Scoundrel doesn't need to be deleted (unless I need a new character slot, lol).

 

Honestly, whatever happened to playing what you want and just having fun? Why do you need to be the most powerful class or the one that does the best? I've heard some people say Marauders are garbage, but I have seen some tearing up opponents like no tomorrow. Just pick what you like and screw everyone else.

 

On the topic of the Sages being powerful, I would say that they will be a lot harder to kill now that they can heal for 100% of the damage they do while still having access to the bubble's stun and healing abilities. Also of note is now that they can hit up to 10 people at once and spread their "uncleansable" DoTs around, making them very dangerous indeed.

 

Who knows, they may tone them down, but granted that they seem to be a favourite, I don't think it will be anytime soon. Plus, now that three of their skills are mobile, good luck pinning one down. Also, not everyone is a "bandwagoner"; some people actually like the character and play it just because. It's abilities are just icing on the cake.

I gave up a long time ago (2004) on class balance. For PvE I play whatever class I like the most. For PvP I play which ever one is the most OP. I'm sick of pouring a ton of work into a toon only to see it nerfed beyond recognition with each patch. I've been burned too many times on that one.

I would much rather look at them by spec not by class, cuz by class tend to be extremely misleading.

 

Sorc: Madness seems pretty much the same, but if you are a melee class that is susbitable to roots you are 3 notches below toast. Lightning looks good with more mobility and less prone to interrupts. Healing sorc seems to be the strongest of the pack in 3.0.

 

Sin: Madness seems petty much the same which is not good considering how over the top it currently is. Dec. seems a bit worse off then i remembered that you could chain 19 secs of CC immunity (and no I am not talking about sniper). Tank seems about the same or a bit better.

 

Jugg: veng still has extremely massive survivability and mediocre damage. Rage seems to be "the spec" with massive upgrades to single target, and probably over the top. Tank is about the same. Did I mention 10 secs of root immunity every 60 secs?

 

Mara: Meh. In era of roots and counter roots mara seem to be left without much to close gap. Also carnage had some genius changes that makes me wounder what do the devs smoke and were can we get some of it. I am enthusiastic for rage (or fury now? w.e). Annihilation? Stick to PvE.

 

PT: Pyro seems mediocre. Non spreading dots and aoe channeling damage are superb in PvP. AP is going to be super broken. I am sure people do not mind 100% armor penetration rail shots (among at least 4 skills capable to hit above 6K). I was also trying to understanding the reasoning for the major buffs to HO and base bonus MS. My best guess is that an under skillED dev was doing some testing in a WZ and got rooted by a madness sorc with HO on CD, and then he vowed that no sorc will ever be able to control him/her again. Tank is about the same.

 

Merc: TBH, looks highly mobile in-contrary to the believe otherwise. How well that will pan out will see. Healer looks good.

 

Snipers: Please do not PvP (all three specs). Okay that is over dramatic, but considering we have other ranged dps with better damage, mobility and suriviability, why bother playing a turret dps?!

 

Ops: Dps specs did not get any buffs, thus remain noncompetitive. I won't say unavailable, but close enough. Healer, nerf was inevitable. Surprisingly took this long. Lets just hope it is 1.7 pyro PT nerf going to 2.0 (and if you do not know what that is the pyro PT 2.0-2.3 was the embodiment of beyond terrible).

I'd make bioware angry if I'd go there. Just wait and see. You're still wrong however.

 

Yeah sure, anyways this reminds me of how people ranted about operative dps being OP right after they buffed it again. People's experience don't always tell the whole story.

I might get a forum warning or ban for this, but here... this is why madness will break pvp. A friend of mine was parsing near 1k hps just from leeching strike, the dot heal, and deathfield....

 

yeah but it will be fine, 8 sorc vs 8 sage, is perfect balance no?

the only thing they really significantly buffed for sorcs dps was lightning because fyi it sucked BALLS in rated

all madness got was that ez dot spread thing that every dot class is getting and those new abilities that dont tell much besides they take X damage and get a debuff

Yeah, 10 seconds for Vengeance and Rage, but 20 seconds for Immortal. Huttball is going to be fun :D
