LeJarC
consumables typically don't end up in collections.

Andryah
Because They are classified as a "consumables". Consumables from the CM are NOT available in Collections, nor are crafting mats that drop from packs for that matter. You don't have to like it, but it is what it is. Since most dyes are readily available and inexpensive when people buy up the packs.. I really don't see this as a big problem. So when you see a dye you like from a fresh pack release, stock up and hold them. Later you can use them as needed, or resell them for high profit later then they are no longer readily available. Sure... a few MMO iconic monochrome dyes are very desired and rare.... but that is the nature of MMO players. Personally, I have yet to find an actual use for White/White and Black/black.... but many players lack imagination and just gravitate automatically to coveting these two dyes. Reno_Tarshil
Would be grand if they did.
Brewski
I'm confused. Are you expecting them to add consumables to collections? That would seem an odd thing to request, and an even odder one to expect. Consumables are, well, consumable. They need to be rebought/crafted everytime. That's why they are consumable. Asking them to put dyes into collections is akin to asking them to put experience boosters or med packs into collections, and I just don't see that happening. Skalme
The dyes aren't so common that it makes sense to buy more packs to try to get them, and packs go away (Life day re-availability notwithstanding). Perhaps rather than making them collection items, they could add a dye vendor of some kind, so that once you've "unlocked" a dye it is available at the vendor for some amount of credit. It would allow for people to play more with customization, while still preserving the initial GTN market.
OddballEasyEight
Seriously.....why are the color dyes from the cartel market not in collections?? Can a Dev give me a solid answer?? Everything else is. 1000 - 2500 for a dye or 1000's spent on dye modules, but can't unlock in collections??? It's because dyes would stop selling after a short time if that was the case. Imagine if all consumables were added to collections. How long do you think it would take before everyone stopped buying any medkits, buffs or other consumables? The reason why dyes are not part of collections is to keep them selling. Now, you can view that from any moral standpoint that you'd like, but it should be fairly obvious to anyone that should they add dyes to collections, people would stop buying dyes very quickly since you'd only have to buy one of each that you like and then not have to buy any again ever. It would suck for my crafter since the main income from that is from the Red/black dyes and if they were added to collections the prices would plummet. And the same would happen to one of Biowares sources of income in the game, namely dyes and dye-packs. But of course that's not what you wanted to hear. You wanted to hear how you are worth getting free dyes for the rest of your life. Becuase you are entitled to that in your mind for buying one. Andrellma
If they were collectible, people wouldn't keep buying them. Not the answer you were looking for, but it's the answer you got.
TheSeventhJedi
I'm sure the amount of money they make from people buying that black/black dye is pretty ridiculous. Why would they want to end that cash cow?

Why would they want to end that cash cow? Pretty much. As a consumer, a think it's bs. But from a business standpoint, I would milk the player base dry with it for as long as I could.
