Why does this game still only support Mouse buttons 1-5 after almost 3 years?!

So i just got a logitech g502. Unfortunately i cant bind the additional buttons; and yes I have checked the forums and this is an old problem since day 1. The listed workarounds are not suitable for me.

- Im running LGS software as admin

- I have set the profile to SWTOR

- I have unbound the buttons in LGS but they still dont work.

The only way to use those buttons is to bind them in LGS to some odd key combo ill never use in real life like CTRL+; and then bind the quickbar to CTRL+; in game.

This might be okay for some of the things, but I really want to use the G-shift button for what it was made for (temporarily lower the dpi) which is perfect for GSF sniping. Outside of GSF i want to bind the G-shift key to a quickbar. Unfortunately LGS only allows 1 assignment per key which means i now have to choose what i want to use the button for

Why is it this game still doesnt support mouse buttons 6 onward natively? :(

Why does CTRL still stop you from moving forward? Why doesn't hitting Enter log in your character? Why is there no mouseover healing? What is the meaning of life? Why do companions still flex around like a pretzel when it would be perfectly normal for them just stand there and not to stare at you all the time?

Edit: I changed my G600 keys to use Numpad 1-9, requires having Numlock on though. Duno if you can do the same with yours or not.

Just go to your mouse's software and create a profile for swtor and bind all your mouse keys to 1, 2, 3, 4 ...., 12 and control + 1, control + 2 or whatever etc ...

Works just fine.

I have a logitech G602, I simply bound the extra mouse buttons via the "Logitech Gaming software" for SWTOR to Shift+1, Shift +2, etc.

No problems here either

You guys obviously didnt read my post... I know I can do that, but that isnt what my problem is. Why doesnt the game natively support the additional mouse buttons? I want to use the dpi-shift button for something else outside of GSF where i want to use it for lowering the dpi of my mouse when i snipe.

If i bind the button to some keyboard combo in the mouse software I lose the primary purpose of that button. If the game natively supported the extra button it wouldnt be a problem

It has nothing to do with the game supporting. Microsoft windows does not support. That is why Logitech and every other hardware company out there release software to support it.

If the OS does not support then the game cannot support end of story. USE the software provided. That is what it is there for. There is no game out there that supports this.

How do you lose the "native" button setting. You use profiles on the mouse. My G700s has 5 profiles that I switch between all the time. I don't think you understand how to use the LGS software. You need to set up a new Profile. Read the instructions on how to use the software.
