GSI Satellite Support on new planets?

So as most of us know there is a GSI satellite support on makeb that buffs the player to an acceptable level to defeat the enemies on the planet and progress through the story line without worrying about their gear levels. This was great for the 12x xp boost because almost everyone on makeb would be under geared. Being we are just coming off of the 12x xp, and almost all new characters are under geared for being level 55, will there be such a buff on the new planets? If anyone can confirm that would be great. Thanks!

Makeb was a little too hard when it launched, but since it was flooded with people who had just purchased the expansion, it wasn't bad because there were so many people killing mobs. It really cut down on the density. Fast forward a year when almost no one is on Makeb, and the mob density was just too much for a new 50 to take on without gearing up first. (Keep in mind that people had been at 50 for ages when it launched, and so their gear was much better than a fresh 50's.) With the new expansion, we probably won't run into this problem, because hopefully, they've learned their lesson from Makeb.

No.

This is what I don't want. I do not want people in level 45 gear using bolster to get to level 60 and then queuing for level 60 group content. The expansion is just coming out and people are not going to be geared to carry those who didn't bother to follow gear progression levels. If you can't defeat the new solo content, then you shouldn't gain levels. What's the point in getting gear with bolster? You aren't going to care about getting gear, or buying gear I looted or crafted and placed on the GTN.

Feel free to debate about whether there should or shouldn't be a support in the first place, but I am just wondering if the support is actually in the new expansion planets. I think it should be there, but I do play more PvP than PvE, so I can sympathize with your point. In PvP bolster is strong enough you can compete naked, so i don't see this as much of an issue unless they start queuing ranked. In PvE, can't you just kick the person? Group finder will be active enough that you can get a replacement pretty fast.

No

Don't nerf content before it even comes out

There needs to be necessary speed bumps in order to separate the herd

Well connected and great players will surge ahead and the rest will fill the void at their own pace

Otherwise, every derp in the galaxy will show up in level 30's gear looking to do endgame content

If bio keeps bolstering too much and too often then why even have gear or levels?

Why just 12xexp why not create a toon- apply a cm buff and whamo! Level 60

The game needs to absorb all the current derpage; to expand said derpage with new release could cause mayhem

In my opinion setting a new expansion's first area to the gear level of players that farmed endgame in the last expac is a huge mistake. You're only going to have that situation (highly geared players leveling in the expansion) one time, at expac launch. After that the people coming through will be in green and/or blue gear, not purples, and they will have a miserable time of it because they simply won't be geared to the curve the content is based on. Unfortunately this is a mistake that MMO Dev's keep making over and over again across the industry. I've seen it in WoW, Rift, and TOR. (Rift is probably the most egregious example; Storm Legion at launch was awful if you hadn't played endgame before it hit.)

Bolster is one way to fix it. Another would be to put vendors in that first zone that sell gear for credits (not comms). The purpose of that gear would be to bridge the gap and get new characters to the starting point of that content's power curve. Mission rewards would still be upgrades for them, but they wouldn't be struggling. WoW actually did this with a couple of their expacs. and it worked well. It's one of the few things I've seen them do that actually made sense. :)

Considering that Makeb was here for a little over a year before they did that it would be safe to guess that the new planets will not have the GSI Satellite Support.

Note: Do I want the GSI Satellite Support - No. For the most part when I go to Makeb to do my weeklies I forget it is there and considering my gear is 168-180 it really wouldn't help me much since it bolsters you to 156.

for sure the bolster Satellite will be there and in any FP/OP, SM and HM. but the Galactic Solution Industries ran out of these Satellites. since its lost Rakata Tech they can not produce more of them.

so for the sake of PvE bolster they had to take them out of all lvl 55 Warzones and Arenas.....
