Ashlockheart
Hello. I have been playing star wars for a long time now, and after doing many things in the game I feel its that time to give a review. First let me start by saying thank you to all those people who worked so hard to give me my Star Wars Experience. It has been a wonderful journey. I still remember the first day I played and my Jedi putting together his first light saber, and raising it to the stars. Giving you that feeling of becoming some thing greater then your self. That memory will be one I cherish always. I mean that Bioware, and Lucasarts. So Thank you. Now on to the review. 1. Questing/Missions. I love all of the missions, and how they are set up. I love the fact its all dialog, and its personality driven. It made every mission unique, and made me feel like I was really in the game. Over all. I love how it was set up. The Class missions Made me love this game the most. The Story's were so strong, that there were times were felt so much emotions that it overwhelmed me a little bit. I think my favorite story's though has to be the jedi counselor, and the smuggler. The humor you made with the smuggler was so good I think I played all of it over again 3 time. Another con I can think of is I wish there was more in depth in the companion missions. They were not as strong as the class missions, or even the planet ones, but they were still good. Over all you all did a great job. CON'S The only con's I saw with it was many glitches here, and there. I also saw that you guys couldn't add more class mission's or companion mission's due to cost. I hope to see more class mission's, and companion mission's down the road when the cost is there. Please keep that alive. Items/Crew skills. Here is were you kind of lost me in some ways. I like how you make your own weapons, armor, shields, and light sabers, but I was sad to see the you could not build many epic items, and most things that you made were not as good looking as the stuff you find or get off of missions, and bosses. Its not the worse thing in the game, but I think it does need some improvements. Over all its OK. CON'S You can't make many epic item's and the items don't look as good as some of the items you find or get from bosses. Customizing Character. This is another thing I love in the game. I love the fact you allowed us to make our character's ours. Were could make them look how ever we wanted. And who ever it was who wanted to add more hair color, and hair cuts in the game tell him or her thank you so much. Over all though. great Job again. CON'S The only con I have to say is I wish you could have added more for the body sizes. Right now you can only choose 3, but I hope there is thought for more down the road. Fight/spells. This area I love. I like how the spells and the set up is very similar to war craft, and I love the cookie cutter talent tree's. This I have to say right now. Please don't change the talent tree. This was one of the main reasons I quite World of War Craft. They changed how the talents worked. I love how the talent's and spells are set up right now, and I like how you can mix it up from different tree's. I love how all the spells look, and how your jedi moves. Over all great job with the spells, and the talent's. CON'S The only con I see is when you do some saber attack's it feels kind of dull. I wish your jedi did more spin's, and flips like he or she does in the video's The world/ Scenery Every planet is amazing to look at. Every thing looks so beautiful if you have a graph's card able to push the highest settings. This has no cons in my view. you did a wonderful job, and thank you. Now there is more I could say about the game, but I don't want to make a very long review. And I don't play this game for the PVP, and that's why I did not add the PVP part of it. So here is my review rating on this game 9/10 Edited November 25, 2014 by Ashlockheart

From what I've seen, Disciplines seems like an improvement. Don't judge a book by its cover. Edited November 25, 2014 by Essence_of_Light

But seriously, I really think you should give it a try. You may like it more than you think. I'd at least give it a week. If you're still sour-mouthed about Skill Trees, then you could leave, but at least you would've given it a go. With war craft I left after 3 days of the new talents. When you dumb things down it does not feel epic any more, and things just feel to simple. Now I will say this. The dialog could keep me here, but that's pretty high hopes that they would have the cost they need to do more class missions, and story. But ether way it goes. I had fun. It was a wonderful game no matter what. I am glad I started playing before many changes. And no matter what it will be a memory that I will never forget because most of all. I got to play it with my son. Me, and my son both left games we loved after things got dubbed down or changed completely. But I am sure there will be many things to come when it comes to mmo's. But Disciplines isn't necessarily dumbing anything down. In fact, nothing is really changing except for the UI and the way you get your skills as you level up. All it is doing is adding more customization and making it easier for the Devs to expand and modify as time goes on. Your rotations will remain largely unchanged, you'll be able to choose Utilities that fit your playstyle (ex: being able to move while casting), and when the level cap increases again, it'll be easier for the Devs to manage. All in all, the only thing we're really losing is hybrids; which, in all honesty, aren't that big of a deal (in my opinion). Besides, hybrids made it a great deal harder to balance classes (especially for PvP) than it originally should've been. Karkais
Sorry, but the Skill Trees had to go. They just wouldn't have worked for much longer. Bull. This statement has no basis in reality. Assuming the game progresses enough time with discipline system, devs will run into the exact same problem eventually. The discipline change only alleviates the problems slightly, it does not solve them. And no, discipline system is not an improvement. ThorgrimLutgen
................. When you dumb things down it does not feel epic any more, and things just feel to simple................... SWTOR is already the simplest, most casual friendly, dumbed down MMO since their inception, and even I am not sure that disciplines can make it much worse. Assuming the game progresses enough time with discipline system, devs will run into the exact same problem eventually. The discipline change only alleviates the problems slightly, it does not solve them. Nope. Try actually reading up on the Discipline system and watching the Dev streams, please. kthx And no, discipline system is not an improvement. Yes it is. Besides, hybrids made it a great deal harder to balance classes (especially for PvP) than it originally should've been. Hybrids is choice in my eye's. PVP is not some thing I find fun really. How ever i know you can have game were 2 talent systems exist so that one does not effect the other. In the end when it comes down to every thing its cost, and weather or not the bio team enjoys adjusting things to keep things flowing. If they don't enjoy what they are doing then they will change things for them self's to make things easier. It's just that simple really. I know if pvp was not in this game there would be no worry about adjusting so much, but there are players that like pvp so they have to think about both. What is the difference really in the talent tree vs the discipline one? One you can mix things up to what you want. Words people use is hybrids, or weird builds. The other one gives 3 basic styles of playing. Tank, damage, healer. Each style has a few little options to pick from in this mind set. Damage this way or this way. Tank this way or that way, and the same with the healer. To me that just feels limited, and not fun after playing for a little while. because you tried all of them and now what else is there to do? See what I love about games is trying new things. If you put a limit on trying new things then there's only going to be so much that holds your interest. Going simple is ok if that's how you made the game at the start, but they did not start that way. Ether way though. In the end everything comes down to what they enjoy doing, and what things will cost. That's all. Player feed back helps them with direction, but they will always go in there view of directions. Never the players. if you added every one together only a % of players will enjoy the direction they picked. If your going to be a online game then you have to hold every ones interest. See online games don't just have players like love pvp. Some love the story or lore. Some love the customizing, others love the pets. Each one has there own love about the game. If you try to focus the most on one area then your only holding a number of players interest. That's why its import en to be prepared to not go one direction when it comes to a online game that has every kind of player with different interest. Other wise you could drop in income and popularity Edited November 25, 2014 by Ashlockheart
Karkais
Try actually reading up on the Discipline system and watching the Dev streams, please. kthx I have done that, which is why I said what I said. As long as devs give players ANY kind of freedom over utility choices or whatnot, devs need to balance those options out. The issue is still there, devs are just being lazy and stupid. The change is a reduction on the freedom of choice, which is why I will always be against it. Assuming couple more level cap raises, the utlity window will eventually pose the same issue of balancing as the talent trees currently have. I hate design that just brushes the problems under the carpet. Edited November 25, 2014 by Karkais
