chosonman
Question for those who have min/maxed their Sentinal/Mara. I currently have both Sent and Mara and have maxed their damaged to about ~1740 ish after stims. I have all the Strength datacrons and my expertise is maxed at 2018. BUT, after inspecting another Sent/Mara in warzone his/her is at 1850 damage per second with 2018 expertise on his stat sheet. Even with full brutilizer (i'm only main and off brut) I can't possibly hope to match that. How is it possible to hit that number? (The numbers on the other character was while he was idle so it was number inflated due to relic proc I think) Edited November 17, 2014 by chosonman
Hei_Atzfel
I'm assuming by 1,850 you mean his primary weapon damage? If that's what you're talking about then that's rather easy to get. My Assassin with full power/surge setup gets bolstered to well over 1,900 max weapon damage in a WZ and she doesn't have a single piece of brut. Yea, I'm talking about main weapon damage, but I'm also talking about Sent/Mara. I have both a sin and shadow and they are both about 1900 which is easy to do, but I'm wondering how to get 1850 with a Sent/Mara Actually I've seen as high as 20000 main hand on a Sin/Shadow... That's pretty hard to do to. (If anyone knows how to get 20000 on a sin/shadow I'd like to know that too ) ...my full brut shadow is only about 1970 with datacrons and stims... General_Aldo
Stack power/surge on all armor pieces for a secondary stat. Power augments are optional but do not make a huge difference compared to strength augments
Haystak
augmenting everything with power, or even main stat augs. Getting the enhancements and mods that give the most power and surge, and stack till your happy. beware of pieces that have alacrity, or accuracy, as well as pieces that have power/surge but come with more endurance. Bioware made it so that some pieces have power and surge, but come wit a lot more endurance and less power/surge. Pretty much every armor piece you get in the game has less than optimal mods and enhancements in them. The only thing you really do by buying the armor itself is get the best in slot for the 'armor' section, as well as the set bonus it provides. Ld-Siris
You need to look at each insert closely. Some may look the same but the stats are a little different. Some will have more endurance than main stat. Or they will have higher secondary stats and lower main stat. And yes the sin can get higher because the doublebladed light saber has more base damage than the light saber. Sniper rifles and assault cannons have the highest while pistols and light sabers have the lowest. It's why the merc and gunslinger dual wield to keep up with their mirrors. Power augments will give you slightly more damage than mainstat augments, yes But you will lose some crit. It comes down to personal choice as the difference is very minor. Hei_Atzfel
but I'm wondering how to get 1850 with a Sent/Mara Ummmmm, by doing the EXACT same thing as done on a sin, stack power/surge...... It's not hard.

Vodrin
Also check that other sentinel and see if he is running PvE weapons. There are mainhand combinations that bolster slightly better than brute right now.
Vukk
Just be aware certain specs will run well when you stack all that power/surge, some won't. Knowing the that, carnage is best. Anni isn't. Personally I run Str/end. Through testing seemed to work the best in actual combat. Edited November 17, 2014 by Vukk

Zoom_VI
really? intersting. Do yoiu happen to know which? They are not really better. They give slightly better main hand damage at the expensive of 41 to 82 expertise, the net result is that they come out below Brut if you factor the % damage increase of expertise Edited November 17, 2014 by Zoom_VI

I think L_Randle did comment on it at some point, but I never bothered getting anything other than Brute due to the effort involved.

Not to mention L-Randle's bolster post is significantly out of date. I am aware, although he did further testing with some higher level mods (I think it was a 72 hilt with a lower mod and enhancement) that showed a very slight bump in damage over full brute. I do not recall the thread he posted those results in. In any case it may have been "fixed" since that testing was done as I believe it was in the 2.7 patch cycle or so. And even if those setups are still bolstering above brute, the difference was so slight to make it now worth the effort. It just seemed that since the OP was focus on tooltip values for weapon damage that it was worth looking at whether or not the target he noticed was using PvE gear that bolsters well or full Brute. Zoom_VI
It did result in a tooltip damage increase over brut, it did not result in a BiS.
Vodrin
It did result in a tooltip damage increase over brut, it did not result in a BiS. The guy the OP saw may still have been using such a PvE weapon setup though resulting in higher than expected tool tip weapon damage. I'd have to look at what my sentinel has on the tooltip to see if that 1800+ number is unusual. I can't honestly recall where mine sits. I am running strength auments over power though so my base damage will be slightly lower than someone running power augments. I also have two pieces of accuracy/power gear, but that should not affect the tooltip. It just leaves me at 74% surge instead of slightly higher.
