Quality of Life Improvements

I'm sure some of these have been mentioned in the past by other players, but these are just my own personal suggestions. Some of these are long overdue in my opinion.

 

Quality of life improvements

 

Items:

  • Augment Slots: Write the level of the MK augment slot on the item's tooltip (make sure it shows on the GTN tooltip also)
  • Collections: Have an entry on the top of the list that shows only your unlocked items so you can find items you own faster
  • Unify Colors: Fix it so adding mods to gear doesn't keep resetting the unify setting
  • Relics: Add in more neutral alignment relic options (for character level 1-49 at least)

 

Preferences:

  • Sound: Add a volume slider for combat-based voice dialog from companions
  • Graphics: Add an option to disable screen shaking
  • User Interface: Add an option to auto-skip starship travel cutscenes when landing/exiting planets

 

Social:

  • GTN: Fix the sorting from resetting after every search (it used to work fine a long time ago, until it was broken in one of the patches)
  • Guilds: Add a way to invite your own alts to your guild in case no guildmates are online (Some games have this, and I think its a nice bonus. Plus you don't have to bug guildmates for every alt you bring in.)

 

Companions:

  • Droid: Let the ship droid equip a weapon (blaster pistol is fine.) If someone really wants to use it.. what's the big deal. Having it weaponless is an outdated mechanic from beta.
  • Gifts: Speed up or remove the cast time on giving companion gifts. I don't see the point in the cast time anymore, other than the GCD.

 

Misc Suggestions:

  • Events: Run special events more often. It seems like there's a lot of space in between SWTOR events. This gets players back to the game more often... especially the XP bonus events. I really like the 12X class-only bonuses, or even double XP weekends. It's great for players who already leveled 4+ characters, and want to skip some of the generic stuff.
  • XP Toggle: Although I personally don't have a problem with it, some players don't like bonus event XP, and it's understandable. Add a preference option in to toggle it off for those people. This way everyone is happy.

 

Most of my suggestions are transparent to the player. Meaning.. if you don't like them, and they are ever implemented by Bioware, you don't have to use them.

 

If you have something to add, please be constructive! I'm not looking for debates on any of these topics (i.e. these my suggestions specifically for the suggestion box for Bioware.)

Here are the two that I think are most important:

 

Items:

    >>> This bug is extremely annoying and should be fixed, but also helpful is:
    . . . . . . . . . . NEED "AUTO-MATCH TO CHESTPIECE" DYE MODULE

 

Social:

  • GTN: Fix the sorting from resetting after every search (it used to work fine a long time ago, until it was broken in one of the patches)
    >>> This bug should be given high priority, every time I use the GTN I notice bad initial sorts, initially unclickable sort headers, and the reset of the sort on every new GTN search. I would say they should default to "Lowest Price First" on every new search, unless the MATERIALS category is specifically selected in which case it should default to "Lowest CPU First".

Plus a few more that are the most worthwhile amongst the rest:

Companions:

  • Gifts: Speed up or remove the cast time on giving companion gifts. I don't see the point in the cast time anymore, other than the GCD.
    >> The question will be whether giving gifts should be just like consuming Stronghold deco tokens, where you can hyper-click through a stack of 30 in a matter of a few seconds.

 

Misc Suggestions:

  • XP Toggle: Although I personally don't have a problem with it, some players don't like bonus event XP, and it's understandable. Add a preference option in to toggle it off for those people. This way everyone is happy.
    >> This could be a useful addition to just have all +XP possible to toggle off. I can imagine a guild leader who uses up an entire 10 character slots just to have "level-frozen" characters that can help guildies at all intermediate levels... 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 !

 

Social:

  • Guilds: Add a way to invite your own alts to your guild in case no guildmates are online (Some games have this, and I think its a nice bonus. Plus you don't have to bug guildmates for every alt you bring in.)
    >> This can probably only be done if they also change the max members per guild to be #-of-players instead of #-of-characters (unless a player is a guild officer and already has invite permissions)

 

 

 

In place of them doing Events more often, I think they should put significant effort into bolstering the social environment to add things like chat bubbles, more animated emotes that are directed at other players, more glitter powders and other dazzle effects, multi-player stronghold features such as cantina dim lights & dance tiles, sitting in all chairs, multi-player diversions scattered around Carrick, etc. etc.

While most of it I agree with one I don't in particular. That's your event suggestion. Having come from games that actually ran their events either monthly or less, I can tell you, the novelty runs off really fricken fast. The solution is more varied events, not running the same events monthly. The exception might be the bounty hunter event, but they definitely need more events, not to just recycle what we have more frequently.
