Magickia
Hello I was wondering about consolidating and deleting all my characters to start all over with one level 1 character and rebuilding from there. I was wondering if anyone has done this and what happens with legacy unlocks and anything else that could cause problems.
DanNV
You'll keep the unlocks, etc. Personally, I'd keep enough high level characters to support the new ones you want to level.
DoctorBeckett
Nothing happens to the Legacy itself, but the class unlocks and buffs go buhbye.
Daewan
Nothing happens to the Legacy itself, but the class unlocks and buffs go buhbye. This is incorrect. Your unlocks for reaching 55, max affection, and finishing chapter 2 and 3 all remain part of your Legacy on that server forever. Once you have an achievement, it stays there. Deleting the character doesn't matter. It's always part of your Legacy. That's why moving a single character to another server unlocks the whole Legacy for you. Account wide unlocks from collections are part of your account, forever, and appear on all servers. Hello I was wondering about consolidating and deleting all my characters to start all over with one level 1 character and rebuilding from there. I was wondering if anyone has done this and what happens with legacy unlocks and anything else that could cause problems. As someone else suggested, I would keep one character around for earning money and getting gear, but considering that you can just store things in the legacy bank, it's not as important as it could be. Make your new character, mail yourself all the money, then delete. Unless you are really going fora straight-up, right from the ground start. (WHY?!?!? But hey, go for it if you think it is fun!) discosoc
Why would you want to do this A lot of us enjoy the "journey" more than the "destination" so to speak. I've done this with WoW several times.
JumperPenn
Well there are quite a few other servers, just sayin'.
LadyVix
A lot of us enjoy the "journey" more than the "destination" so to speak. I've done this with WoW several times. The journey is a hell of a lot smoother when you have a higher level feeder alt to keep you going. Browse these forums and you'll see many threads criticizing 12x EXP because people don't have adequate gear. In my case, my "alts" ensure that I always have up to date armorings, mods, enhancements, barrels, hilts, etc. to make leveling more enjoyable. 12x EXP is much nicer when you have fresh blue/purple augmented gear every 5 levels, and it has allowed me to cap my 6th consecutive character without a single death. (330+ levels without dying)
Magickia
One of the reasons is I made to many characters and wanted to clean that up and I only have two level 55 characters which I will probably only keep one since she can craft mods and armor. Another is I really do enjoy the journey and its not easy getting involved with end game especially since its not as easy to gear up for then a lot of veterans would like to say it is and no I do not want it to be easier since I am a firm believer that stuff has to be earned. I also feel I have missed out on a bunch of content because of fast leveling. I really do enjoy the this game and besides when my character dies I really get bored with that character I really had to stay focused just to get my two level 55s. Heezdedjim
Hello I was wondering about consolidating and deleting all my characters to start all over with one level 1 character and rebuilding from there. I was wondering if anyone has done this and what happens with legacy unlocks and anything else that could cause problems. I did it. I deleted all existing characters on my account several months ago (including six level 50-55 toons and Master Craftsman, among other things), with the intent of "starting over," and I had started on that when 12x was announced. Since 12x came along I'm up to six brand new 55s, and will have eight (four on each side, one of each AC between them all), by Dec. 1. So basically I rerolled my entire legacy thanks to 12x. All legacy perks you had will be fully retained (e.g., GTN and mail stations on the ship, achievements, legacy Presence bonus; class buffs, species unlocks, HK-51 availability, collections account-wide unlocks, etc.). Per character unlocks and character bound items will be lost when you delete the character. On the whole, I've enjoyed it. It's been like starting the game all over again. And it's a lot better game than it was the first time around at pre-launch. One stealth benefit of re-rolling and maxing out lots of alts: You will get around 2 1/4 full bars of Legacy XP for every character that you level 1 to 55 on under the 12x buff. That adds up really quick, and I went from L36 to Living Legend by the time I had finished my sixth alt. Cidanel
Why would you want to do this I just did this, although I just moved to a different server and didn't delete anything. I am going to level all the way through with no help from any other of my toons, I am watching the cutscenes, reading all the in-game mail, etc. The max level grind is mind numbingly boring and repetitive in this game, and many of the storylines I have only ever actually paid attention to once, so it is incredibly fun to get a break from doing the same OP/PvP arena over and over and over and over.... Oyranos
I actually cannot do that, because my characters are a part of me with good memories and I always spend lots of time in the character creator to make my character... This is why I hate swtor character creator, its limited to 1-2 faces for me and other things that make me asking all the time a revamp in the character creator. and why delete ur character and not create a new one with a character slot unlock, if u dont have any available left. If you dont wish any help, just dont send anything over... Or you mean the buffs... Edited November 10, 2014 by Oyranos
Dras_Keto
Why not just make another account? You get to start over totally fresh and, later on, after you realised it was a silly idea, youve got all your old characters right there waiting. wiredgutter
Instead of doing this I would recommend just starting fresh in another server. 12x makes this a prime time to do so, even though it will be slightly more time consuming to gear up due to having no high levels to support you. I'm actually doing his right now
