Please for the love of god help me /SOLORANK RANT

I don't know what the **** to do anymore. I main an operative healer. I've transfer from pot5,harbinger,bastion.

Currently on the bastion ATM

 

2 weeks I get an average of 10 games in. Its a *********** nightmare. I don't have much experience in rank

MAINLY DUE TO THE FACT I NEVER GET IN A *********** GAME!

 

I see why a lot of new players avoid rank.. It rarely pops, once it does #MLGPROGAMERS harass them to a point they stop.

 

What do I do ?!? I can only play 3 hours out of the day around 8-11 pm EST. On my days off I am on almost all the time... yet once again the entire day not a single rank solo match.

 

IS THERE ANY NORTH AMERICAN SERVER THAT HAS A HUGE POPULATION FOR RANK SOLO?! As soon as people start losing they all stop playing.Then comes the #I>UMLG420BLAZEIT kids who trash talk/rage quit matches on a dime. Then comes the 26k green gear trolls. Each server has republic super queue then kills rank solo's entirely.

 

I know there are countless threads on which server has the most ranked pops. I've been to all of them and they all seem pretty dead to me. Now since this :rak_03:ghoul event solo rank is completely dead this week .

 

/ENDRANT I am beyond frustrated at this game. What can I do to get a rank match? PLEASE.

I feel your pain. I play a tankernaut on Shadowlands. Haven't played a ranked match since season 1.

 

Sadly, I don't see anything changing without a major mechanic change. Either them adding the ability to dual queue, doing away with role matching (which is a HORRIBLE idea; it's unforgiveable that the general arena matches already lack it), or drastically improving the rewards associated with ranked.

Yes, I know: cross server. It's been said it can't be done, and I tend to believe that if they could do it they would do it especially at this point.

Sadly, no.

That's kind of the problem. If you start losing but keep queueing, your rating is going to tank horribly. Sometimes there just isn't enough population to mix things up enough, so you'll get in a situation where you get repeatedly paired with trolls and/or set up against some really good players. Under those circumstances, you're going to lose more than normal. Hence, most people stop queueing.

 

Sadly, we just don't have enough interest in ranked solo. Personally, I've stayed away from it since season 1, mainly because I'd rather spend two minutes in a queue and do a regular warzone than spend 30+ minutes in a queue and get one brief arena.

 

The rakghoul event is only making things worse. Even though the rakghoul plague does not tick down or stun you inside a warzone, many don't understand that and will simply not queue for the duration of the event. Also, some people actually go do the PVE (not me, I hate the event).

 

Solo ranked is rather rank smelling. That's what comes to mind when I read "solo rank."

Join a guild/Make a guild that ONLY Does Ranked . Problem Solved. NEXT.

I think they should just make everything ranked and all in a single Q. Make it to where you do not lose rating for losses but you only gain rating if you face someone no more than 100 below your rating. Just show the rank on the leader boards but hide the rating in game so its harder to game it. Match-make from there based on rating and group size. Edited October 30, 2014 by Technohic

Jung Ma has a pretty regular solo ranked community (usually pops every night ~8 or 9 to ~midnight), but it's not newb friendly, mostly because the only people who queue are really good. it's mostly the best players on the server who jump into the queue and face each other b/c grp rated never pops. there are a couple ppl like me and every so often there's an undergeared tool who guarantees his team a loss, but the number of bads and trolls is very low compared to other servers. the down side of that is the queue isn't really representative of the server population. since you're playing with and against mostly guys from the best guilds on the server.

 

the queue population is small, but the better players don't leave queue just because they're losing. some of the good but not great players do this. and of course, the bads tend to get run out after one or two games. if they stick around for a long time, the queue might stop or switch to grp for a little while. it's a small server. it's not the ideal answer, but as I said, it's BY FAR the friendliest and enjoyable yolos experience i've had on any server even though my actual rating has taken a nose dive by NOT dodging anybody.

Roll as DPS. Yolo Qs seem to pop like candy for deeps.

 

Unfortunately, there don't seem to be a lot of Healers queing Yolo. My brother plays Sawbones and had to wait 20 minutes for his last Q. As a DPS, I got in a match in about 30 seconds when I queued up recently. Since you are a Healer, you have to wait to be matched against another Healer. So there is a potential of being forced to wait by the Matchmaking system.

 

I'm guessing this is the main issue since most of the players I know that roll Yolo get pops without much difficulty on The Bastion. Of course, they are all DPS or a DPS Hybrid like Skank Healz.

 

I understand that Tanks suffer the same queing malaise.

Crazy talk.. just crazy. I mean only rivik and his guild normally runs ranked. But thats about it, jung ma does have some nice people though.. Which is the only reason out of any other server I would stay there.

solo ranked, at least on my server has become all about dps. Thus to get a pop, you'd have to respec, unless there are other healers queueing.

i'm pretty sure that's what I said. small population. very little douchery. 80-90% high quality players (e.g.: vicious) in queue.

Usually what I do is, I make an ops group and invite people on my friends list that I KNOW do ranked and make everyone ops lieut and everyone invites and eventually we have an ops group of about 20 people and we all queue. That's just the way we do it on my server though, so it might not be for you

OP is right. There are "great" Star-shaped Snowflakes out there who will whisper bribe/harrass/throwout-dumbarse-tactics in match to discourage new players from queuing and thereby ruining their late night sync with their buddies.

 

The only fix is for more people to queue. That means better participation awards, so the Mega-snowflakes can float to the top if they really belong there, or properly melt.

LOL. Its Yolo Ranked , have you watched the Snave-Musco Interview , He said that EVERYONE Should be able to participate -_-. Nothing can stop you from hitting the que button , unless he has a gun to your computer.

yep. this is why I don't watch that ****. I'd just get angry and unsub. that special brand of idiocy on the part of BW turns a "ranked queue" into a faster way to grind better comms and then rewards it equal to grp ranked.

The ranked PVP community has only itself to blame really.

Queueing in ranked solo is about as much fan as a root canal.

Even if you win, you feel like you lost.

You guys cant continue to be complete jerks to everyone and then complain about lack of pops.

My merc is geared enough for ranked, but since i am not into masochism i only queue with guildies even though i would like to queue a lot more often than most of them do.

bottom line, police yourselves and youll get more pops, continue to act like douchers and it is what it is

Hmmm I'm actually really surprised you're not getting pops on the bastion, because I basically get insta pops (and by insta I mean 1-3 minute wait at most). Usually there are at least 2-3 solo ranked arenas running at the same time.

 

What time are you queuing? I'll admit, it's hard to get pops earlier in the day. That's pretty much the case anywhere, because many of the people who do ranked work.

 

If you only have imp side toons (just guessing), it might be smart to roll a pub side toon on The Bastion. Almost everyone who does solo ranked has toons on both sides and sometimes people just feel like playing pub side.

 

It might have been a slow week, idk, but right now the bastion is the place to be. Hope this helps

Thank you Captain Nonsequitor! What does being bad have to do with anything? The people who say "bads shouldn't queue ranked" (is this what you are implying?) are simply wrong.

 

Back to OP's question <queue up record>

• join a guild that uses voice
  
• practice dueling with guildmates, discuss dueling tactics after each duel (e.g. "dude, you are not using your flashbang enough"). Good dueling is the foundation of learning your class. In the case of a healer you get to practice your escapes
  
• queue sync with guildmates. Even if you are not in voice during the Arena, playing a match with even 1 familiar teammate gives you a much better chance
  
• Now that you are in a guild and are using voice, queue for 4-man ranked. Better yet, queue 2 4-man teams so you have a chance to play against each other. Nothing better than being able to discuss the match afterwords (in voice) with all 8 participants.
