Cross fraction chat

I know know this has been said before. I would be nice for people who are queing ranked/sister guilds/world pvpers/world RPers/RPers/reg warzonerz... To just chat to each other and try to get stuff started or just keep in touch when on some other alt. it sucks grinding then coming back to your other guild like

"huh where have you been?"

"Doing ranked on imp side..."

"Oh...how did it go?"

"Never popped..."

"Sorry to hear"

Or

"Hey Anyone question for ranked press X"

"X"

"X"

"X"

"X"

"We should get a game if we see 4 more Xs"

So pretty much I want a /cjoin cross fraction <insert name of channel>

Funny I don't have an issue with I just thought it would be nice to have cross fraction chat

A) I think you missed the point that its is a FACTION not a FRACTION

B) kind of defeats the purpose of having faction if there is no separation.

C) its call group find, if people want to queue for ranked, they will queue for ranked, otherwise they wont. Funny how that works.

High-five for being a good sport OP and laughing at my joke!

:)

As for a serious response to your suggestion, as was stated above, this was something they tried during the early beta testing phases and it didn't go over well at all. Players tend to get a very rude with each other in PvP when cross-faction communication is allowed. The Jerry Springer Show, chair-throwing, excessive use of long strings of expletives kind of rude.

This is not a good idea and should never be implemented. On top of that I think factions should be restricted per account per server. If you choose Republic, all of your characters in that server will be in Republic side.

I know many people will not agree with this, but it would add more immersion to the 2-faction idea.

That idea is contrary to the fundamental design of the game and will never happen based on that fact alone. Edited by Rankyn

Reading the answers to this post I think most of 'em failed to understand what OP is asking. He's not asking for a General Chat merge, or a PvP chat merge, or a "in-phase" Gen Chat merge.

There's a command in game which allows you to create a personal channel. E: /cjoin MyGuildName. This adds a channel on the /n being n any number from 4 to 9.

What OP is asking is making those Personal Channels work cross-factions, which is a good idea.

Got an xbox or have a friend with one and a fps along the lines of call of duty and the like? Enable voice chat, lusten during a match and you will learn very quickly why cross faction chat is a very bad idea. Especially if there can be pvp involved, it will put fleet chat to shame.

We already get clueless people who don't realize alt faction can't read them raging at them in general chat, imagine if they could read and reply...
