RickSarth
Hi all, Well after seeinig lots of news about the new expansion coming to TOR (SoR) I decided to return to the MMO that I left in a bit of a huff some 3 years ago. I got the CE and had it pre ordered as soon as it appeared, I played in the beta and enjoyed the game so I was looking forward to starting the game once live. I rolled a Smuggler on Hutta and after playing a sith warrior in the beta I found the starting area really small and felt there was no one about and it didn't feel right somehow and I got disenfranchised. I decided to give the game a go again as it was bound to have been improved over the intervening few years. I created a new character (sith warrior) and played to where I got on the beta (Level 10, Drummond Kaas) and after landing on DK I remembered the map looking tiny and very claustrophobic. What I didn't realise then was the map is poorly scaled, so what looks quite tiny is in fact a large world zone and had many enjoyable story quests and I found I am kicking myself for not pushing through and playing more as I feel I lost out on a lot. Glad to be back and playing and playing a bit of a devious so and so with my human juggernaut. Im in the UK so hope to see other UK based folks running about. LWith this and X-wing and Tie Fighter being re released, its like lucasarts never went away.

Gomla
I rolled a Smuggler on Hutta How did you make it out alive? Just jesting. Hutta is the Agent and Bounty Hunter starter zone. Smugglers start on Ord Mantell. Welcome back. I came back myself a few weeks ago. I also pre ordered and was here at the start. I made it a little bit further than, got my Commando to 44 before I quit. I seem to be enjoying it more this time round than I did the first although I do find things that frustrate me and things that feel outdated. mbfhl
Wow you did well to get a Smuggler on Hutta!
RickSarth
Haha, I meant bounty hunter (maybe he was smuggling on the side!) Yeah I think I was just a bit put off by the feeling it was all a bit compartmentalised but in fact its very sprawling, and coming in fresh its still all new so I can rampu up from 0 to 55 and SoR learning as I go. Most folks seem happy to help and do heroics or flashpoints and less trolling than I ever experienced on wow before I gave up on it.
Lotharofxev
Well if you like big worlds, just wait until Hoth, Alderaan, Tatooine.
RickSarth
I have read that at about 15-16 you get your ship and the galaxy really opens up, so im looking forward to finding out what is going on away from the 'starter' worlds.
Jimvinny
Don't know if you've planned on preordering the expansion, but if you're enjoying the sidequests, I'd suggest holding off on that for now. Preordering gets you 12x XP on story quests, meaning you'll quickly out level the content if you're completing side missions. It would allow you to tear through the story mission on several characters, should that interest you, however. Edit* regarding your signature, one of my favorite parts of this game was rolling light side imperial characters. The way the story and conversations unroll when you're choosing light side options is way more interesting than always being bad. Same goes for going dark side as a pub. Don't get too excited...you get your ship, but the story takes you to very specific locations. Just follow the story...there's so much real estate in SWTOR that you haven't seen 5% of it yet. RickSarth
I had planned on holding off on the pre order asd I want to enjoy the game at normal progress. Re: the ship, I realise it would be 'scripted' but its nice to know you see more than what I was under the impression of during the initial play period in 2011

Re: the ship, I realise it would be 'scripted' but its nice to know you see more than what I was under the impression of during the initial play period in 2011 I understand your desire to hold off, but I would also like to just say, you'll miss the extra characters if you don't take advantage of the bonus XP...you can always go back in a month and run all the side quests...if you do just class story, you won't be ruining any other classes. RickSarth
Is it basically, if I pre order before sunday I get the xp bonus and it lasts for a month?

Deewe
Nice to hear OP, WB Now: With this and X-wing and Tie Fighter being re released, its like lucasarts never went away. The good flight sim isn't for us to enjoy in SWTOR but in a totally different game. And reading the comments on Tie-Fighter on GOG made me sad as it reminded me how great where these games compared to both the crappy PvE tunnel shooter and the GSF PvP one.
