The class leveling event has brought me back to the game and is a brilliant idea

I think this class leveling event is awesome. Some time ago I leveled up one character on the imp side and one on the republic side and enjoyed both but I had stopped there because there was no way I was going to play the same planet quests again just so I could get a different class story It sounded horribly boring and I had no idea how people could enjoy alts when probably 90 percent of the content was the same. I think EA, Bioware, or whoever the hell is in charge should make this unlockable for players who have reached level 50 with at least one character on each side and want to experience other class stories without going through all that other stuff again. It was/Is a great idea. Some ppl have cried like babies about the 12X xp. But I find most ppl are not on the Forums defending the 12X xp, is because we are trying to grind as many characters as possible before this Early Christmas gift goes gone on December 1st. :)

I just hope i can do some Imp characters as well.

how dare you give me free stuff!

Naah, it's more a diffuse "I want to play everything and I want to outlevel nothing" type of mentality that exists with some of the players here.

But personally I think they just like to whine, because even if you DON'T use xp-boosts and legacy boosts, you'll still outlevel content if you do every single sidequest, planetary quest, class quest AND flashpoint like they say they want to.

Some cite that it's "too easy" when you outlevel stuff, but then when others say that they could just be undergeared a bit and the challange will be back, they go into a tirade about how they shouldn't have to change how they play to make the game fun or something like that.

It all just smells like spoiled egotistical nonsense to me.

+10 for using the word diffuse correctly. :D

I pre-ordered, haven't used the bonus and am certainly not going to get upset about it being in the game.

If it has the effect of getting people back and playing the game again, I'm for it. Even though I don't particularly want or need it. There's nothing to complain about tbh.

In fact, the only downside I can see is that people could potentially get to max level without ever having used their character in a group dynamic. But that situation is easily overcome if in guild or with the right people in a pug. I have seen some totally clueless tanks/healers/derps in tacs recently, can't say whether they are a by-product of 12x exp though. /shrug

^ This but with some tweakings.

Started a brand new character and got level 15 out of Hutta totally outlevelling the content, this without even touching a side quest.

All gear handled by the quest where up to 5 levels under my actual level.

At 14 I did not even get the advanced class mission had to pick it up form the guy on the fleet.

Why, thank you, good sir. :ph_thank_you:

Yeah, there will always be "bads" no matter what you do to the leveling experience in a game. Because anyone could grind mobs from lvl 1-55 if they wanted to and never touch a group mission ever.

And another thing that people seem to forget is that they are under no obligation to pre-order now.

They can wait until december 1st if they just want the "fluff" for preordering.

Or November 2nd if they want the 7 day early access.

But considering that the launch date is December 9th, that's a little over a month that they'd have to "put up" with the 12 xp thing.

And that could be easily remedied by focusing on end-game for a month.

And if they pick the latest pre-order date, they only have to put up with it for a week.

But no, people make it seem like this was forced upon them somehow.

Yeah, but then at lvl 20 or so you start to be on-level with missions... and at lvl 30+ you are actually underleveled... so it evens out :)

And lets not start saying that you desparately need to be using gear that's right at your level before reaching lvl 20

No you are right, I was just mentioning my experience.

The XP buff is nice, although, seems to me it needs some tweaking.

And I for one advocate for a XP off toggle, or better a XP slider, or even better have content scale with the character level.

I for one would rather have 30 "bads" at level cap thanks to this event than three "goods" without it. Because three of those bads might stay that way, but the rest are just inexperienced. My guild has a new player who just got his first MMO character to level cap. He seemed like a bad at first, but it took all of two pointers (like, always let the tank pull; they get grumpy otherwise and it's also a better tactic), and he's shown much improvement.

I've been doing this on multiple characters. I already have some 55's so credits aren't an issue. Every 10 levels, I go spend 50-75k on GTN and re-outfit myself in new green stuff. Works fine.

I haven't significantly over-leveled any quest yet and I'm using experience boosts as I go. However, as I approach Makeb level, I do have a decision to make. I can complete my class quest and get just a fraction of the way into Makeb or I can do Makeb and be 55 before I finish my class quest.

Neither situation is a tragedy. Just a decision. And since I'm doing this to see the class story lines again, the decision is easy.

I think Makeb at 47 is an almost essential choice if you want to limit upgrades on your gear.

Another side benefit....you can have a 55 run you through the content, never have to worry about gear and get to level cap in a blink, so to speak. The 12XP boost is not effected by grouping with a 55.
