Forgive me if this is a stupid question,

but I never know if Bounty week is on or any of the other events i've experience in the past such as the casino thing and that raghoul stuff on alderan. I've only known about these going on by accidentally walking there.

I looked on the SWTOR website under event, it nothing is listed there for those upcoming events.

Is there somewhere in game that tells you ? or on SWTOR website?

I would hate to miss out on those events as they come by once in a while

I run into this issue as well, I normally miss the start of BBA week, either by only PVPing that day, ot already being on my ship and off questing, the only fleet toons are at the GTN and not going anywhere else, and even now with Strongholds, most of my toons are sitting there pumping CS beat my own GTNs.

The only regularly recurring event is the Bounty Event. Traditionally, it is scheduled to occur the 2nd Tuesday of the month. The patch notes (when patches are added) usually have a message in them something to the effect of "The BBA event will be returning on XX/YY/ZZZZ" which can give you a date a bit in advance. If you cruise around the fleet near the elevators and see the carbonite clickable, then you also know the BBA event is live.

But generally, it's the second week of the month.

The Rakghoul event (2.0) has only happened twice and can be figured out by the fact that the holoprojector clickys are on fleet. There is some speculation that the Rakghouls may show up again around Halloween. So keep and eye out.

The Gree event is far less frequent, but will probably come back again before 3.0.

The casino event has been a 1 time thing so far.

This.

And just to add, lore-wise, the Hutt/Casino event was stated to be an annual event.

Also, the image on the launcher is usually changed to match whatever event is going on.

How do i know which event is happening?

BioWare is totally relying players to check the forums, or get back the the fleet and click on the new items/npc.

Totally wrong approach but well here's how I'd do this:

  • Send a email to active account players to inform them
  • Send an ingame email with an attached gift too to all characters upon login with directives

==|> Happy players.

Profit.

Not to bring another game up, but I like how WoW had a calendar and you could see when events were happening months in advance.

Not to say a calendar wouldn't be a useful idea but to present a slight counter to that idea.

The BBA event is the only regular event that runs each month, and it's pretty easy to plan around.

The Rakghoul event by nature has a "spontaneity" inherent with it. It's supposed to have an unexpected feel too. More "Oh No, the Rakghouls are back, stop everything" and less "Oh, I see in 2 months the plague will be coming back...good to know, will plan accordingly".

The Gree event was originally a sort of tie-in to Ancient Hypergate and TFB, so it kind of has this really out of place feel to it now. The Gree are going back to Ilum again...and again, and again. But it seems to be the most sporadic of events to schedule. Because it's an event that doesn't really easily tie in to anything else currently active in the game world, and doesn't stand alone very well, thematically.

So I would say putting a Gree event notice on a calendar would be useful, but it happens so infrequently, it may not be of too much help in scheduling anything.
