Can We Get Our Stunned-Only Abilities Back?

With 2.0, these were taken out, but many of us found them useful when questing or doing dailies solo (Ex: Tumult on a Shadow).

Especially when using a healing companion, which is often the go-to while leveling, these abilities were nice hard-hitting ones that could be used when your companion CCed a member of the mob (all healers have one of these CCs except Treek).

I understand the idea of ability bloat, but what is wrong with simply having the option included for players that liked using them? I remember they were also really useful on my Operative and Guardian. If you don't want to use them, simply don't put them on your quick bars.

Thoughts?

Part of the issue was, people would get used to having them in leveling situations, but then when it was time to move to PVP/Operations, they were now lost with what their rotation should be. I remember numerous times people claiming bugs due to not being accustomed to it. If I remember right, they could only be used on weak/standard/strong enemies.

^^ This is correct.

And again, only when they were immobilized or stunned. Still, I miss Shoulder Slam.

It was awesome.

As far as knowing where and when these abilities worked, the descriptions were there for anyone to read. This is learning a class/spec in a videogame over 50+ levels, not something overly complicated.

Endgame PvP and Operations are very different than solo questing or doing dailies. Moving one convenient (solo) ability off a quick bar or not using it at all if you prefer also shouldn't be confusing.

And, weak/standard/strong enemies are overwhelmingly most enemies in the game.

As long as many skills are being reworked for 3.0, I would just really like it if the devs put these back in for us as an option.

The last thing this game needs is MORE abilities.

I concur. Still I think BioWare could have put this ability together with an other one, so that it makes more damage when used against a stunned opponent... and that pulling abilities together would overall a good thing for the game.

Yes, that would be a good way to bring these abilities back. If they could manage to bring the old animations back when the conditions are right that would be even better. So for example if you use, say, thrash on a disabled weak/normal npc, you get additional damage, and the tumult animation.

So let me get this straight. You are asking for an ability that few people used regularly, was situational at best, AND underpowered to be added back for what purpose?

there are much better abilities available that do more damage and are non-situational. I see no reason these worthless skills should be added again. They may have been fun animations but overall are rather worthless, there are a few others that I would take out that are "utility" at best.

They took them out for the same reason they do everything: Because numbers. It doesn't matter if some people found them useful in some situations; "the numbers" showed they were the least used abilities out of the already excessive number we have, and they were at the time in the mode of trying to cut down on the number of moving parts to make balancing more manageable. Even if everyone who used these at all was upset to see them go, that was less people than would have been upset about any more often used ability being axed.

On the list of things right now today that would be good for them to spend time adding to the game, these abilities are not.
