Can I play a neutral character?

I played my first character without tilting to dark or light. I RPed and ended up with neutral morality, unable to wear any relics.

 

Is a neutral character viable option? If so..

 

1. How do I gain relics from level 10 onwards being neutral?

 

2. How do I gain dark/light points without siding one in my missions? I know diplomacy could help. What's the quickest way?

Relics are pretty unimportant. I have several characters who are almost completely neutral, and they never had any problems. Similarly, the characters I'm levelling during the 12x XP boost rarely have the chance to get even 1000 points in either direction before lvl 55. Until you're doing endgame content, you can safely ignore relics -- and after that, they're no longer tied to your LS/DS score.

I powerlevelled a Juggernaut from 1-55, he was Dark IV when I hit 55. Though Warriors DO get a huge number of free Dark side points.

 

If you really want, you can get the low level Matrix Cube (level 15 IIRC), and then upgrade it to the mid level one (35?). But that will still leave 1 empty slot - unless you've done the newer Rakghoul event and have purchased multiple endurance+presence relics from there.

sadly i played the neutral character once i mean sometime i choose neutral but the problem u cant wear relic and also the most annoying it some of your companion may need to use items that require LS/DS

The benefit given by relics is irrelevant. And companion items don't have LS/DS requirements, mostly since your LS/DS score doesn't apply to your companions--and beside relics, the only items with LS/DS requirements are a few lightsabres. These tend to be either moddable (so you can take the mods out and put them in your own sabre) or worse than equivalent blues, though.

At least half of my characters were played neutrally, and I had no need to use relics at all before L55.

Use Matrix Cube and Thorn Relic while leveling. Most of the time you forget activating the other relics anyway. Edited October 18, 2014 by Mubrak

As "matrix cube" may be a little unclear, there's a guide here that will explain in more detail what people are talking about and how to make yourself a matrix cube relic.

 

The Thorn Relic that someone mentioned comes from the Rhakgoul event, which occurs periodically. They're great relics for levelling as they are bind to legacy and give you a presence boost (making your companion more effective) however you need reputation with THORN, so you'll have to wait until the next event to get one.

 

As others have said, being neutral isn't a big problem. You can level just fine without relics, and the relics at endgame are not restricted by alignment.

 

 

Diplomacy's really the only way to get ds/ls points without picking those options in missions.
