Ultimas
It shouldn't be too hard to design a few solo missions where we get to interact with another alt within our Legacies. Having the Hero of Tython and Emperor's New Wrath fight against the Revanites together for a mission or two would be very cool. Imagine Kira talking with Jaesa (DS) or Doc putting the moves on Vette? Hell even Pierce duking it out with Rusk would be interesting! It sounds feasible as long as both of your characters have completed their storylines. Max_Killjoy
Strict segregation of the factions no matter what happens in the ongoing story is a long-standing MMO tradition. Look at WoW -- even when struggling to take down Arthas, the Horde and Alliance were kept entirely apart; even as some of their leaders were communicating and cooperating, there was no contact between players on either side. Look at SWToR so far -- even on Oricon, there is actively encouraged PvP between the factions. It's ridiculous and ham-handed, but I'm afraid it's not going to change. Revan is, according to Shadows of Revan, the single most threat to both the Republic and Empire. For once, it would appear that both sides could have set aside their animosity towards one another to combat this threat. I believe they squandered a great opportunity by not allowing this to happen in 3.0. Heck, they could have based it on light/dark alignment to mix if they wanted too. I'm disappointed that they didn't allow this. Sadly, they show the leaders of both factions standing side by side in the trailer. If they can do that, they should do it for players if only for this storyline only.

Story wise there is absolutely no chance the SW or JK would ever team up considering the SW's #1 enemy should be the Hero of Tython and then Lord Scourge. Gurluas
My LS Warrior would side up with the JK. The artificial factional segregation does nothing but hurt the game, and most MMOs today are getting rid of it, except for Wow of course.

Faction segregation has been a stample in MMOs since the very beginning. It may not be ideal in some regards, but it does not hurt the game any more than anything else. How would the game decide what responses your Legacy character would chose? You can't set it so that a Light Side character always chooses the top option because you as a/the player might not always chose that option when playing that character. You'd also need to take into account what X character would say in terms of dialogue options based on what story choices. For instance would the Sith Warrior always bring up their exclusive Emperor dialogue choices in the convos? What if you never chose those options when playing the SW post Chapter 3 storylines? Having your legacy characters meet one another would be a difficult task to pull off due to all the things the game needs to keep track of, not to mention as soon as your Knight, Warrior, Agent, etc, responds with some type of line that you never would of chosen it's going to break it for you. You also have to take into account people who have the characters they want created, but who haven't completed the vanilla storyline yet. What do you do in those instances? Create a default version of the JK? If so how do they decide if the JK is male or female, what choices they made, etc, etc? Note for this example I'm talking about for any content that would allow the class characters to meet. It's not something that BW hasn't thought about already, however once you start thinking about everything that would be required and the processes that would need to be at work running behind the scenes of the game to game it gets insanely complicated trying to piece it all together and figure out a way to make everything work together.
