Lvl 50 Ilum mission?

It seems I'm mis-remembering, but I could swear that some time back the Ilum story mission was made to be abandonable? I don't mind doing it, but I want to change things up as I level characters with this new 12X xp bonus. I would like to do Ilum on one, Makeb on the next, and switch back and forth just to keep things at least a little fresh.

 

Did they never fix this? I really really don't want to keep doing Ilum. And yes, I realize i could ignore it and just go to Makeb, but like most who ask for missions to be abandonable, I absolutely despise seeing missions sit in my log that I have no intention of running.

I believe you can drop it, you might have to do some twiddling with resetting phases and whatnot.

 

Now, whether you can get it back again after you abandon it, I have no idea.

 

You should also keep in mind that Ilum is considered story for the 12xp bonus. I understand the mixing-it-up aspect, but that's ignoring 323k xp on every story mission there. Also, whether you do Ilum or not, every NPC from Makeb onward will act like you did. Just things to think about.

The reason i'm swapping with Makeb is that Makeb is also part of the 12X bonus. So I'm mixing up by alternating between characters getting to 50+ to go either Makeb or Ilum.

 

I didn't try resetting anything only because abandoning wasn't an option from the very beginning. If anyone can verify that resetting definitely works I'll do that. I'm wondering if I have to maybe complete the Crystal Ball mission first?

Had an alt that completed Class quest(s). Got the Ilum questline from a droid on fleet. IINM it is abandonable.
