Was it just me, or was the voice acting in forged alliances kinda bad?

Don't get me wrong, the voice acting for the various npcs was excellent, loved theron, lana, and arkous. But i felt like the player characters were really lacking, on the imperial side more than republic. Warrior was good as always. And bounty hunter's lisp is pretty much gone. But agent could have been way better. It seemed like in some scenes the male agents accent fell off. He'd just bounce in and out of an imperial accent, making it sound very forced. And inquisitor was just drop dead awful after part 1 (he did excellently in part 1). It was really bad. Listen to the inquisitor
Is it just me or does the poor sith sound pretty drunk? So, with shadow of revan being paid content, my question is, do you think the voice actors are gonna put more effort into it?

The voice actors are doing fine. Your quarrel is with the people in the control booth giving them directions and pitch control. They're the ones who give the final say on the lines.

Someone did miss a comma

Alas, I'm nitpicking. I love hearing Timothy Watson; Dude's always superb.

The VA is not new.

And Jeff Bennett can NEVER sound like garbage.

Are they still using the same voice actors from release?

I don't know exactly how many, but we know for sure at least some of them are. For example, they're still using Steve Blum.

Bioware, please for the love of the Force, stop using Blum. His voice is fine, but it never differs. It is the same in every role he plays.

He only voiced Revan.

Same voice inflection.

he dont sound the same as maelstrom prison and foundry, he sounds totally different in rakata prime..maelstrom prison and foundry revan sounds way better than this new voice iteration that we hear in rakata prime..

He's a VA. Some of them -- Steve Blum not included :p -- can do a different voice altogether.

Jeff Bennett here and

too.

Johnny Bravo... Awesome. :D

Several people have identified the droid voice as James Urbaniak (Dr. Venture from "The Venture Brothers") but SWTOR isn't in his IMDB credits. Since I think all the voice credits from the GA game have been added in, this would imply they've gotten at least one new voice actor.

All the other voices I've recognized to date (Shan, Arkous, Darok, the Jedi Commander on Korriban, and someone said Lana) are present in the original game release.

---

Also, I've been fine with the voice acting in Forged Alliances. My only gripe since vanilla was a couple moments with the male Inquisitor in the Oricon story chain.

On these, I'm 100% sure:

Theron Shan - Troy Baker ( Voiced Zenith )

Darth Arkous - Timothy Watson ( Voiced Harkun, General Rakton, Moff Yurion and Lord Cytharat )

Colonel Darok - Daran Norris ( Voiced Gault and G0-T0 in KoTOR 2 )

Commander Jensyn - Steve Blum ( Andronikos Revel and every other character with a gruff voice )

Sergeant Tarsten, Master Oric and Liutenant Bickell - Robin Atkin Downes ( Lord Razer, Addalar Hyland, etc )

Jeff Bennett - Revan ( 110% sure on this one :p )

I can't for the life of me know who voices Lana Beniko, even though I hear her voice since release.

Mary Stockley perhaps?

EDIT:

Dunno about Soverus either, though I think it's the same dude who does the ad for Imperial Strongholds.

I've heard Bennett before not just as Revan but also as Kyle Katarn and I'm fairly sure it's a different actor for him in the forged alliances FP.

I'm not 100% sure but I swear it's someone different. If it is it might be because they couldn't get Jeff back or it's not actually Revan himself.

Either way I'll be interested in reading the credits when I've played through this after it releases.

I sometimes wonder...

You people do know that the business of voice acting -- unlike what Steve Blum likes to imply -- requires people to be versatile, right? That some of them have an awesome range?

Take Jeff Bennett here and

for example.

Would you know for sure it's him, if people didn't tell you? Probably not.

Better yet, take Robin Atkin Downes for example, voicing all these characters:

Again, not exactly uncommon.

EDIT:

Damn. Now I deleted the links with Michael Gough. Ughhhh...

EDIT: (2)

Jim Cummings takes the cup. :D

Robin Atkin Downes I can pick anywhere same with Yuri Lowenthal and many others.

We really won't know if it is Bennett until the content comes out or they officially confirm it's him. I'm still not 100% sure it is Jeff.

I'd need to hear more too to actually say if it is or isn't. And Bennett has a kind of.... I don't know what you'd call it? Country accent? Anyways I can usually tell if it's him. I mean I picked he was Shocker on the spectacular spiderman cartoon.

I'm not trying to say I'm right and you're wrong I'm just saying I think I could tell if it was Jeff. You could be correct however :)

Again, I'm 110% sure.

There are things to his voice that are unmistakable, including this lite-Johnny Bravo kind of touch that is more noticeable than before, such as in

for example.

When he says "them", the way his voice "turns" so to speak. Hard to explain but again, I do know those voice mannerisms. ;)

EDIT:

The "turn" I'm referring to when he used to do JB here, though in the earlier example is more succinct.
