BadSwings
Cities are dull empty shells. Entire worlds unable to be explored. A Universe so linear it's like traveling down a blackhole. This game like many others has taken several steps back in the mmo genre. Create expansive concepts and shut out the actual delivery. If one can overlook the fact that this is a suped up scroll-screen type game you'll still feel cheated because of the crappy server instance system that's in place that keeps players seperated. ***, if WoW or EvE can have x amount of players in an open world/universe enviorment why cant swtor? Im not tech savy but it's like stepping back into time with whatever there using to run the game and I dont mean the GuildWars 1 type graphics...that can be another issue. All in all it's just my opinion, story's engaging light saber and force power real cool but thats just half the game...if that much can be acreditted to it. I purchased Star Wars...In the game the "Wars" are possible but the "Stars" are locked out to us. Sad.
Abriael
you obviously didn't get very far in the game. Only the first planet is linear and the second somewhat so (but not much). Past that, planets are immense, fully explorable, and exploration is encouraged by hidden quests, datacrons and lore unlocks. Basically, you're so far off the mark that it's not even funny. Lifeless? please... That's not even realistic. The game takes a lot of step forwards in the MMORPG genre, for sure not backwards.

There is absolutely no reason to go back to any of the planets. * Hopefully they expand them and add RvR into the game. Every planet has a bonus series. Some you have to return to the planets later to do. It's not the game's or the developers' faults that you rushed through the content and skipped all the side quests and bonus missions. The Old Republic has way more life than any other MMORPG for the simple fact that the NPC are fully voiced and the conversations are interactive. Arduz
This is like playing KoToR and quitting within 10minutes because you don't have your lightsaber yet. The game starts off at a slow simmer and only gets better and better, imo. The whole game is linear. <- Already lv50 SI Sorc Healer. There is absolutely no reason to go back to any of the planets. * Hopefully they expand them and add RvR into the game. You can go back for datacrons, harvesting, collecting codex entries.. In other games, when you finish questing in a zone/area, is there some magical reason to go back to it that this game lacks? Not following your logic here. JimG
Sorry, stopped reading after the first 3 lines. It would great when 10 people have the exact same opinion if they could post in the existing threads instead of cluttering the forums with the exact same thread 10 times. Someone thinks the world doesn't have enough life? In other news, man invented the wheel. The main hubs in the worlds have plenty of life. The outskirts have less, as they should. The planets that are supposed to have less life, like Taris, do have less life. Also, as they gradually increase population caps, there will be more life. Plus, why would they flood planets with NPCs before the server populations stabilize?

Unfortunatly it is your own fault you rushed through and leveled to 50 in the first 3 days of SWTOR. In doing so u missed out on immersion and exploration.' I see plenty of action going on in all the major cities and outdoor areas. If you want rabbits and squirls running around causing FPS issues and lag then great. I don't. New content and areas are being added soon, and they have a plethera of expansions to add in and create. I mean hell, we have at least another 50 levels to add in. Remember the glass is half full...not half empty.
Nalreim
I some what agree with the OP, I enjoy exploring the planets and running around killing things and such. But I would also see some varity. Say maybe 2 worlds your can level on at the same time (know this may come in the future) that way you get bored on one planet you can go to another. Over all though I love it.
Buur
I hate how there is no reason to really explore. Or for that reason even an ability to explore. Some planets are literally just a bunch of corridors and others look open but as soon as you try and look around "EXHAUSTION ZONE TURN BACK OR YOU ARE DOOMED!" I was so happy to leave awful Nar Shaddaa and get to Tatooine... only to find out that when I try and explore a bit I am just forced right back into the box. Yescek
The only thing I can post in reaction to the OP is "Really?" Dude, you're complaining about a game that you didn't actually play. And don't give me any "I'm level 50 so of course I played....." ********, i'd wager you used the PvP exploit to hit 50 cause i've been all but no-lifeing it since Early Access and i'm only level 32. A guildie of mine has been hardcore no-lifeing it and is only 42 as of earlier today. There're more quests than I can count off the top of my head on Balmorra alone and for a Sith thats only the THIRD planet you ever visit. This out of the 11 I think? I know at least that many. Go out and check things out rather than ************ about something that need I remind you has only been out about two weeks now. Say whatever you will about the years of development, but remember that WoW and SWG were around a LOT longer and had more than their original development time's worth of new content added. Give the game some time to mature. NOTHING will EVER be perfect first try, though IMO TOR comes damn close.
Jett-Rinn
Things are playing out like I predicted. Hardcores having tantrums while the casual core, CRPG, and Crafters players are jumping with glee. These same people will be banging their heads against a wall in frustration over not being able to comprehend why TOR's population keeps increasing. This game isn't for everyone but it is going to have a huge loyal following.

The crafting system is awful and it is impossible to sell wares because the AH is awful.
Grammarye
I concur. These planets are in no way, shape, or form planets....more like a short road in a very small village Have you ever even walked across a tiny fraction of a planet? Do you even begin to know the size you are asking for that would be filled with... what exactly? It's not that I am against sandbox, I'm just astonished that you came to a theme-park MMO that was clearly about story and expected sandbox out of the box, if you'll pardon the pun. Or indeed some masochistic modeller to create a load of empty space for no reason other than your desire to wander across it.
Lagboot
Yeah if u even attempt crafting/gathering you will be exploring everywhere..... Also if you attempt to credit grind you can find those areas where lots of mobs and "life" exist and grind items to sell for credits...it's all there you just have to stop and slow down. Tonychet
i hope you realise how big a planet actually is lol if they were scaled to real life e.g size of earth u woudlnt even get out of your state and if u r copmaring to wow, wow has no reason to go back to any other old regions either so.... btw some class quests require u to go back to certain planets
