KumbayaGOD
as you can see xpac 3.0 aclarity speed down the global cooldown , will we need to stack aclarity now ? dots get faster tick, and any melee will get their strong hard hitting skill much faster now due to faster global cooldown thought? jardars
Doubt it. You still need resources to perform those attacks. May be class dependant, but my powertech would overheat even faster...

maverickmatt
I have no bones with this, if it turns out to be the case. Alacrity has long been the discarded stat. If it reigns supreme, good for it. Could be interesting. Hit hard or hit fast? Yes please.
Evolixe
I'm personally véry interested in a 1sec gcd for infiltration pvp. Definitely going to play around with it.
znihilist
The way they described the changes to alacrity, the dps increase from alacrity will look like this: X-axis is alacrity%, Y-axis is % of dps increase. Note this graph is only showing you the dps increase over no alacrity at all. If carnage survives in its current form to 3.0 then it might benefit from some alacrity. However, I think it will come down to this: Does the spec have high criticals or not ? If the spec does indeed have high criticals then surge will most likely be better until a certain point on the DR, otherwise it will be alacrity until a certain point on the DR. Not to mention critical rating might receive a buff (in comparison to 2.0 status) which could skew the numbers. I'm personally véry interested in a 1sec gcd for infiltration pvp. Definitely going to play around with it. I doubt reaching 30% alacrity would be an easy thing to achieve. Alacrity already boosts heat regen. And with the changes to cool downs, it boosts the regen for warrior ACs as well (faster CD on battering/sundering assault in the same proportion as GCD increase.) As someone who mains Vigilance, this is very interesting.

Yes please. hit fast i think is better, think about it , my main is sorc madness and my global cool down creeping terror (root 2 sec) now is 9 sec global cool down, if you get aclarity say can drop to say 7 sec or even 6 sec that would be very interesting but i dont know whether with aclarity gear ( 2 pieces can drop more than 1 sec on global cooldown)

Groncho
Do u guys understand that to build a decent amount of alacrity u will have to negate raw damage?
Andrew_Past
Do u guys understand that to build a decent amount of alacrity u will have to negate raw damage? Not really. To get alacrity, you trade out accuracy or surge, not power. You only need so much accuracy, and depending on what the new stat allotments are, you run into the soft cap for surge diminishing returns. We'll have to wait and see what the theory crafters say when they can crunch the numbers, but it is very possible that alacrity will be a useful addition to one's stat budget for the majority of classes now. Evolixe
Do u guys understand that to build a decent amount of alacrity u will have to negate raw damage? You, guy, do understand that if I have a 1 sec GCD I can do 3 things in the time you can do 2? I wouldn't give a ****. Also, I'd be able to react MUCH faster with CC and the like. JediMasterSLC
Alacrity already lowers the GCD. Now it is lowering actually cooldowns.

For example in BH-Agent AC's if they change the resource management by giving a faster regeneration due to alacrity is a fair trade off, as it works today is not even a choice. Gotta see how group utilities stack in this new combat design. It would be a fair change to give some group buffs to some dps classes reducing the damage output. Zoom_VI
I doubt it changes ICD's. CD's sure, ICD's? Not so much. If it only affects standard cooldowns and not ICD, then it would be absurdly biased towards certain classes while screwing over others.
