gadaboy
Hello all. Just getting back into the game and want to play a Sith character (Inq or War). Curious, in your opinions, which one has the better storyline? Thanks!
DogeDandolo
That depends entirely on what you're looking for. Personally, I prefer the Inquisitor though both stories are great. I like the personal aspect of the story and the focus on lore and Force mystics. The Inquisitor also has the best damn ending in the game -- Knights don't even come close, since their achievement rings hollow and isn't nearly as cinematic. The Warrior is more action-y and on a larger scale. If you've played the Jedi classes, the tone of the Inquisitor is very similar to the Consular (with the diplomacy replaced by power struggles), while the Warrior mirrors the Knight. Both (male) voice actors are extremely good. I'm not too fond of either female one, but they're both good, as well. The (male) Inquisitor is sardonic, snarky and often a bit over-the-top, which combined with some hilarious lines works very well. The (male) Warrior has a very precise and cultivated diction, in my opinion, which fits the background very well and lends itself to the many lines about the purity of the Sith, honour and glory Warriors get. Companions vary. Personally, I prefer the Warrior's crew even though I am very fond of Talos and (as a Light Side Male sorcerer) Ashara is my second-favourite companion in the game. That is because Xalek, Khem Val and Andronikos are flat and unlikeable characters. Meanwhile, the Warrior gets Vette, Cpt. Quinn and Lt. Pierce ... and Jaesa, whom I loathe with a passion. Warning ahead: Ashara is very hard to get to high affection if you're not playing a male character, and her romance is very awkward if you're playing a Darksider (so I've been told). In the end, it really comes down to personal preference. You might be better off deciding based on what kind of a playstyle you want.
gadaboy
Hello! Thanks for the replies. Appreciate it. I just got back into the game. I played at launch and loved the storylines but just couldn't slog my way through the later planets when the story quests became more spaced out. When I heard about the 12x levelling I came back and plan to play through some storylines. Both the storylines sound good, but I play-style I think might be more geared towards the warrior as I just want to hack and slash. If there is enough time between now and Dec I may try both. Thanks again!
Pietrastor
Short and simple - more into power fantasy cliched Sith sunday cartoon story? Pick Warrior. More into personal survival story with greater flexibility for player interpretation and 'molding' of your character? Pick Inquisitor

Pietrastor
For Ashara, the best way is to do Belsavis dailies for few days. Each run nets about 1000 affection if you pick correct dialogue options AND you gets like 120k+ credits each time. Way better than blowing hunders of thousands on gifts for her. That is if you don't romance her or play female Inquisitor Edited October 8, 2014 by Pietrastor

That is if you don't romance her or play female Inquisitor oh! cool tip, this is exactly what i want to do instead of spending thousand creds on gift , thks! i'm more on Ops etc.. at this moment, but will do this, see my Female Sorc's background is kind of usual for a Dark council member, '' I Talk, Do things, you follow ''' it's more consistent of course but it's the red line and Ashara is not exactly in this kind of behaviour Short and simple - more into power fantasy cliched Sith sunday cartoon story? Pick Inquisitor definitly , i've loved the story from the moment i've killed Zash, my sorc's background pop in my head at this very moment and the best was it stick with the story in the game, i mean answers and events feets perfectly with the role play of my char (it was my 1st run as Inq) Edited October 8, 2014 by karmaann

I played my sorcerer as a cynical light-sider with a philosophical bent, and the dialogue options really supported that — especially in the Ashara romance. Pietrastor
i'm more on Ops etc.. at this moment, but will do this,Google Ashara Belsavis guides, there's a few, write down which respnses u need and just roll with it. After few tries u should be farming those dailies in 40 mins for min 120k+ with affection for Ashara. Don't bother with Black Talon, comps that appear after Korriban/Hutta/Tython/Ord don't have from Talon/Essels affection gains Same here! I played my sorcerer as a cynical light-sider with a philosophical bent, and the dialogue options really supported that — especially in the Ashara romance. yep, Inquisitor writer took great care providing Light Side options that literally allow players to dismiss the Empire and Sith
karmaann
i've found these two, i've missed a lot on Belsavis, instead of my Guardian who spend a lot there, http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=310377 http://darthmera.wordpress.com/2012/09/06/the-female-sith-inquisitors-guide-to-ashara-zavros/
gadaboy
Thanks for the info guys! In the end I went with a Jedi Shadow! For some reason the story clicks for me. I think the voice is perfect. I have mainly done light side choices but even when dark side choices are chosen, the voice is so analytical and not menacing you can see the the characters rational. hehe. so far the story is decent too. Thanks again for all the info. I got my SW to 20 so I will finish up with him eventually but I really like the Shadow.

I really like the consular story, but I couldn't stand listening to Nolan North for more than a few minutes before I rerolled a female.
teclado
I like the inquisitor story a little bit better. However, both eventually get a companion that you turn to your side, and I like the warrior's companion better.
menofhorror
Sith Warrior was much more invested and actually is a bit different when going lightside, especially chapter one. Sith Inquisitor. From chapter 2 onward it gets really tedious.

AlixMV
I really like the consular story, but I couldn't stand listening to Nolan North for more than a few minutes before I rerolled a female. lol. Agreed. I've done every class as both genders except Consular, because I ran with a friend playing a male Consular and couldn't put up with his voice for another 55 levels. THIS!!!!! my god nolan north is sooooooooooooooo BAD in swtor, its the worse voice acting I have seen in a long time lol, which is odd seeing nolan north is awesome in every other game. Dubaco
O love the assassin. Its pretty hack and slash if you pick the right build, and I hate the focus/rage aspect of the knight/warrior classes. With the assassin, you have force available from the start to wreak havoc. =P
Karkais
If you feel dark side, pick warrior. It gets to do all the cool and cliche stuff involving sith plus be unstoppable. If you feel light side, pick inquisitor. Ashara makes a modicum of sense assuming inquisitor is light-side curious. ps. In my opinion inquisitor is worst story of all that I have played and warrior is the best story of all that I have played (only missing consular and trooper as Im writing this) Edited October 17, 2014 by Karkais
