Sarfux
This is actually pretty in depth. It is not dumbed down or anything at all like that like some people would have worried about. It is very well done and flows with the game more. The interface for it is just terrific looking. It goes with the game more. The more they show us, the more impressed you'll be with this. They really went all out on this and making the system more streamlined. New abilities with cool changes and lots of great stuff guys. I really cannot wait until this goes live because they really outdid themselves with this. Looking forward to more overhauls of systems in the game's future. The game will continue to grow and there will be many things to do. Have patience, the game is growing and prospering. And now, because of this system overhaul, we can expansions sooner and level cap increases more often because they don't have to fiddle around with redoing the skill trees each cap. This just makes it easier and better for them and this probably means more expansions at a faster pace. I'm very impressed. Very good job BioWare. Makes the game even better. I can't stress how much I love this change! I just wanted to share my opinion on it. Have a great day guys
TUXs
Yeah, I'm much more impressed than I feared I might be. Still allows for uniqueness which is impotent imo. I'm anxious to see more of it...but so far, better than I expected!
K_osss
Kinda reminds me a bit of how GW2 combat system works but without the weapons. Instead you get the different skills based on AC and Discipline choice rather than weapons. But the utility skills are similar to me.

KTap
Mobile casts! Duuuuuuude. I gotta see this. Only on 1 ability per tree (Thundering Blast, Innervate and a new one for Madness), but it's definitely a nice addition. Edit: They said other classes were getting some as well (new ability replacing unload for mercs was one), and the alac change is universal. Pyro seems the most likely one. Combat seems to be getting more involved and varied. Which can only be a good thing And all you naysayers, why do the changes look so horrible to you? Infernixx
I'm in favor of mobility in combat, both PVP and PVE. That said, I'm pretty sure they hired someone from WoW to help. In 3.0, Alacrity will work the same way that Haste does for the WoW system.

Time will tell, i will probably be wrong as usual Btw , Any one else thinking combat will change for the better? (Excluding balance between it all) Be more involved, varied etc? Cause using double strike 3-4 times in a row is NOT fun Edited October 7, 2014 by Petvin

Petvin
On Another Note To all who said that combat would be simplified/dumbed down New abilites (actual ROTATIONAL abilites not like saber reflect and phasewalk, and all the other ones added in 2.0), some old ones have gotten new effects. Different disciplines will get different variations of abilites (crushing darkness change in madness) Utility skills will involve actual choice (Well in pvp at least) All that said that this would suck ,Before you knew anything about it, still sheeping along to that? Drake_Hound
No they didn't simplify it by removing base abilities, they just infact enhanced the experience by giving everybody the options that they wanted into utility aside from tree specific heals, cooldowns and damage abilities. So arsenal can't get incinerate missile (why anybody would pick that after heatseeker missile buff ) But those options are not possible anymore, Neither is making a making innervate madness sorc, since innervate can be cast on the move. But is heal specific. So by limiting defining ability to heal dps and tank, they also compensate by buffng those abilities. So in essence everybody is buffed nobody is nerfed. If everybody is OP then nobody is really OP. That is a bit Rift philosphy which I loved a lot. But important they listened to what veteran players wanted more abilities indepth system. Instead of easier system , and still gotten what they wanted, easier to balance and noob proof. Well it is win/win for SWTOR community, everybody of us who wanted a beter game. DEV, Players (pvp and pve) and newcomers (more noob proof system)

I would be the first one to complain if they went that route, while it seems that way, it isn't really isn't. Infact it is brilliant done in the postive way, sure less options look on paper less freedom. But infact it comes out equal to more choices, but the choices are tailored to individual playstyle. While keeping the base important ability dsicipline exclusive, if nothing changes. By nerfing our base abilities into utilities, then we are set to go for one of the biggest success expansion of all time.
