There are a couple reasons why I think this is a good idea. 1. I love all of the planets and side quests I think they are really cool and I enjoy doing them all but when I have this boost i get really over-leveled and that makes doing them redundant. 2. When I am progressing with friends not all of them were going to pre-order this means that the 2 of us that did pre-order will progress a heap faster than the other guy. Don't get me wrong this is a great idea and I think that many players will love change over the next 2 months but for those of us who fall under those 2 points above and still want the Revan statue can a toggle please be added? Are you simply unable to enjoy the content without XP attached to it? Grouping with lowbies when the mission is grayed out on you, gives the lowbies fewer exp points. The OP apparently values challenge, whereas I get plenty of challenge in my work life and prefer to relax with a good adventure. The suggestion makes sense as it would allow choice. I am tempted to NOT play due to this experience boost which is particularly troublesome if you like PVP for example and will not be earning Comms at the same enhanced rate. It might be something of a grind, but I'm willing to try on a couple of my characters even if I don't do it with all unmaxxed characters. EnkiduNineEight Posted October 9, 2014 Share Posted October 9, 2014 Well my pvp concern may be incorrect. It depends on how they do the experience. IF for the duration of the bonus they are ONLY increasing the earned experience for class missions (A distinct possibility since you can buff experience earned for class missions with a cartel market buff) then this isn't a concern too much, just don't run your class missions. This is a little annoying though as you will likely want your ship at least. Nut the ship is not necessary if you are frequently queueing pvp. If you want to do the various planets you WILL have to take soeme enhanced experience though to at least finish DK/Coruscant and get your ship to move on. To be honest, I don't know if you can continue on with the other remaining planets without ever doing a class mission. With PVP though, you have to be Valour Level 40 (which equates to character level 40) before you can start accumulating ranked comms. If the experience boost is active and not just doing class missions, then you're going to level at a rate from PVP that will mean you will not be able to accumulate enough comms before you hit level 55 to have an optimal starting 55 kit. Its not a HUGE deal but it is certainly less fun to grind out the comms while being underpowered against people primarily in at least full Obroan or better. That's the only thing that's making me think NOT to preorder the package. Please make it optional. What's the point in leveling to level 55 without making real progress with your character? If you want to really play your character, you have to play class missions. It belongs to the game. Because if you play side quests only, you'll move to different areas and will have to travel back to do class missions later, for example. Now I advance in class missions and do side quests in the vicinity. But to do side quests only would make me go back, when two or three levels higher than the missions are designed for. It's not fun to play missions, that are gray, or even green. Orange and yellow are fun, but weak missions are boring. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

anonnn Posted October 10, 2014 Share Posted October 10, 2014 I honestly thought when I logged in that first day of the Expansion pre-order period (after pre-ordering the expansion), that I'd find in my mailbox something very similar to the Anti-Viral Kit MK-1 from the rakghoul event. And when you click the item, it'd apply a 12x class-mission XP buff that lasted 6 hours or even more. In my opinion that's always the best way to do things like this, it gives a warm fuzzy feeling when I get to apply the buff myself, and having an inventory item especially for the pre-order subscriber is just cool. For the +XP type of buffs, I'd bump up the duration to 24 hours. And they could theme the buff item, for example... Revan's Kolto Sample which would be a sample of the kolto that Revan was immersed in when he was rescued in Maelstrom Prison. This bonus is just crap for a new player. Play anyway? Oh yeah... it's really fun to do easy missions with an overpowered character... Not doing class missions? But everyone had better pre-order by November 2nd, or you won't get to start on Dec. 2nd, you'll have to wait an ENTIRE week longer while everyone else is raving about the new planets Rishi & Yavin IV, leveling 5 levels higher, 2 new level 60 Ops, 2 new tactical flashpoints, and 4 new HM FPs.
