Originally set up as a Jedi guild in SWG, we grew and worked hard to earn a fantastic reputation as one of the leading Role Play guilds in the game and the top RP guild on our server. Over the years goals changed, focuses moved but we always kept our mission of providing a great experience to our members. Our focus may no long be on Jedi based Role Play as it once had in SWG, but we are just as dedicated to our members and helping cater to create a great experience as we all have. The DGC belives you get out what you put into a MMO, and that a little effort will go a long way. Our organisation is a little old school We value the players, we prefer names not numbers. Our belief is simple, Community is the 5th pillar of gaming! Good people make these games great, its plain and simple but a highly over looked aspect in many games, So having a great proactive community has been something that has helped keep us around all these years. The Defender Gaming Community, is a real guild. We dont pretend its 24/7 busy with 100+ people on, we have made mistakes in the past, we have added people we probably shouldnt have, but we have learnt from it and built on our experiences to move forward We are a real guild of real people, we know life happens! Our atmosphere is best described as "no second job" No one is here to tell you how to play, no one is here to tell you when to play, and there is no 16yo Guild officers screaming at you in voice chat because you logged in 2 mins late! We love a good laugh, and have nothing against joking around We encourage members to jump on Teamspeak, or website or facebook to share ideas, talk crap, laugh and live. We provide tools for you to experience the game, but we make no strict rules forcing you to use them Many of our members are older gamers ( late 20s to 60s) who love to game, but just cant dedicate the massive amounts of time they once could. And for us that is not an issue that holds us back. We use the words social and casual to describe ourselves but do not let you fool you into believing any lack of skill or ability. For the DCG we see it as a state of mind, a belief. You can still do all you want in game, and you dont have to be on all day every day to prove that, and our experiences in SWTOR and other games have proven that. Our experienced leaders run regular Operation groups, aswell as your regular Flashpoints. We also head out and fly the flag in the battlefields across the galaxy and proudly make our mark as Defenders! Are you looking to be promoted to Officer or some high rank just for joining? If soThis isnt the guild for you! Are you looking to join a guild get access to the bank and clear it out? If SoThis isn't the guild for you! Are you looking to stand around and complain no one does anything for you? If SoThen this isnt the guild for you! The DGC is a strong believer in the power of player destiny. Players control their experience in any game they play, our community is pro active and seeks like minded people. We help, we run groups, we offer support, advice but we arent here to play your game or hold your hand through every step of the way, In the end. The Defender Gaming Community is a different guild. We have been around for 8 years, we know what works for us, and we know not everyone is for us, and we are not for everyone! We all started somewhere! * We have an Imperial Branch which operates as a House of Alts currently * We have Teamspeak, facebook and guild website * Many of our current roster are military ( or former) * The DGC is an international organisation ( members from New Zealand, to Finland and the UK and North America) * Average player age is around 30s onwards, we have NO age limit we just have an older player base. * Family and friends are always welcome. We're looking for laid back people who know their class, don't take things to serious and enjoy playing. Darka Posted May 31, 2015 Author Share Posted May 31, 2015 It has been a good month!With a clear out of roster space, and clearing up of a few things has been very beneficial to the community, our solid reputation has been highly beneficial as we see more and more people tracking us down to join the Defender RanksIt has been a testament to our success over the years to still be going strong as we close in on 9 years! Raid Master Zarn has reported another good month with progress made again with our top teams but the greater success of newer members being able to run OPs, and learn in a friendly environment to up skill and train players for whats to come.The policy of Guild first when looking for players to run has been very positive. From our Fight Master CharlieThe Defender Program's ranked pvpers received their season 4 pvp rewards and for many of us, this was our first ranked pvp season. receiving the rewards was very exciting and we hope to increase the guild's interest in ranked pvp in the future. The excitement and wonder e3 brought combined with the speculation on how things worked was great, saw a few old heads log back in to check things out and join in again!
