Shadysketchy
They probably won't implement any in-game voice chat, Blizzard tried to, and no one really used it Just use a third party program, like Skype, Ventrilo, etc.
Dekadez
Tried Vent or teamspeak ? With randoms? Ingame support of voice chat would be a nice addition. Hardly a necessity, but something that could be beneficial. Edited December 24, 2011 by Dekadez
HELhikari
They'd be better off just supporting launching of third party clients from the game, via some mechanism. No-one - or comparatively few people - ever use in-game voice chat.
Apatheistic
I disagree, if done right, like APB. VOIP would be an awesome addition for immersion and developing friendships.
DreadSire
As someone else said, been tried in MMOs and failed. Use vent or teamspeak ect. The fact of the matter is this. This is a PC game, not Xbox live. And in general PC gamers don't like to talk to strangers while they play. Lets face it, anyone thats ever been on Xbox live can tell you for every decent player you find, there are 1000 bad ones, that if they are not 12 years old they share the maturity level of one. Ever play APB? That's the epitome of voice communication, and it's a F2P mmo. And also, don't generalize something as a failure, because nothing would ever innovate if we had this mindset. Balbosa
My guild uses mumble. It is a lot better than vent.
Lu_Bei
People don't normally use ingame comms for some reason, even when it works better than most TS servers.
Apatheistic
People don't normally use ingame comms for some reason, even when it works better than most TS servers. People don't use it because it usually requires the person to be in a team, or some intricate setup. Also, in reference to WoW, the in-game voip is lackluster compared to vent, and is an addition that was implemented after launch. Players just avoided using such things, particularly when their main communication hub is ventrilo.

Apatheistic
VOIP should be implemented like APB, through social interaction through vicinity to meet new players. Countless times I've been blown off through the /say, simply because there's no chat bubbles in this game. Also, a main thing would be to have a specific voice channel implemented into the guild section. Adding rank restrictions, passwords, creating new channels, moving individuals from channels, etc, would obviously all be possible, and would definitely add to the dynamics of SWTOR. Particularly, it would cater to the more casual gamer, and new mmo players who are fans of the starwars ip as well. Also... how amazing would it be to do a maniacal sith scream as you force choke a rebel to asphyxiation? I would find this extremely rewarding.
