Tanking while stunned?

Healers can't heal while CC'ed.

Stealthers can't gank while CC'ed

DPS specs can't do damage while CC'ed.

 

Why can tanks absorb damage while mezzed or stunned?

 

It should turn the guard icon 'blue' and deactivate their guard (or drop it) while they sit there and do the force lightning stun-dance.

 

Simple change. Tanks don't need a nerf, they just need to be affected by the same CC mechanics the rest of us do.

This isn't really true, HoTs and DoTs keep ticking regardless of stuns. The tank cannot switch guard when stunned, so in both cases the active effects are disabled but the passives remain.

 

The guard mechanic could use some tweaks, but this suggestion is slightly silly

Tanks taking guard damage while mezzed SHOULD break (but it doesn't) because they are recieving damage. Per tooltip mezzes break on damage. Everybody and their mother rolls dps so "popular" opinion is always "nerf tanks". Simply because frustrated dps don'tknow how to deal with the mechanics. A small minortiy of matches go to acid so this is a non-issue. Any nerfs to tanking mechanics would make them more less-desirable than they already are. Edited by Lanzend

hey that's our job..if i'm getting the stuns and the mezzs i'm happy because the healer is not getting them. how do you see if your connection with the force being broken from a stun would dispel all your dots on a target?

No wonder pvp is going down the drain... probably the worst complaint ever,

i think the contrary while stuned in pvp every palyer SHOULD get at least an 80% damage reduction !

So sick of you guys stuning the whole god darned match making pvp some of the worst in an mmo.

And i tank alot in pvp, for your information tanking in pvp sux because its underpowered, probably

the most ignored role by devs in this game... mitigation isnt at all where it should be and its getting worst,

for your information in this game alot of tanks actually do their best mitigation fighting

and buffing the stats up with abilities while fighting so stuns already reduce a tanks mitigation by tons,

actually reduces it way too much.

And BTW cc isnt the same as stuned, cc is fine it gets broken from combat, stuns you can take damage and still sit there like a vegetable, worst game mechanic for pvp ever!

You are exactly right. I'll go one step further with it. If they were to do something that the OP is suggesting, it would destroy tanking as we know it. Tanks would become a liability and probably disappear all because someone QQ'd about not knowing how to deal with a Tank and its guarding ability.

Agreed. Especially since if I've got guard on while in stealth, I can get dropped out of stealth when they get hit. Yes, I've come to realize I shouldn't guard while stealthed in PvP.

Easy fix to guard. Take the 5% overall damage reduction it does away and make the split 55% guard target 45% tank.

 

This might be enough.

 

All I'm saying is that something has to be done about the 1+1=3 problem with jugg tanks and OP healers.

 

Between the new ED, and OP healer survivability, it's a tad over the top in arenas. I mean yes, you can push/pull the tank away and stun him, but he'll usually just intercede right back.
