Question on the HK Droid parts hunt

So I find the part with a Pub player but can't mail it to my Imp. I look at the ingame help and it says that I need to mail my Burba excavator and a list of locations to the Pub toon and then they mail every back. That is not mentioned in any guide.

 

So what do I have to do to tranfer the HK parts within my legacy?

you can mail it to your imp character as long as its on the same server.

Here's the important part to remember: Don't open the box if you're not on the character that's doing the quest.

 

The parts that you obtain on Coruscant and Dromund Kaas each come in a box that's bound to legacy. This box must be mailed to the character that needs it for the quest. After you open the box, the part lives in that character's "mission items" tab until they complete the quest. Once the part is in "mission items" it cannot be mailed over to another character. Also, if you open that box early and have the part in "mission items" on the wrong character they will be unable to pick up a second one so you would have to pick a different character to re-do the hunt for that part.

 

edit: To clarify something that you seem to be mixed up about here, the ONLY part that needs to be found by a different character from the one doing the quest is the one on the other faction's capital. You mail the excavator over to a character to pick up that one part and you mail the box and the excavator back to the first character so they can finish the quest.

 

Only Tatooine and the two capitals give you a part in a legacy box. (Tatooine's different since you buy the part from a vendor instead of actually searching for it.) The rest will all go directly to "mission items" as soon as you pick them up.
