Good news is, Makeb purple commendations(140) can easily carry you through Makeb, Czerka dailies and Oricon until you get a free set of 156 gear(level 53) on Oricon. The planetary comms you now receive on that character can be used to buy armoring's etc for your alts. I wouldn't bother while they are low level and leveling is fast, around 40ish is a good time. Heh, I actually start using comms sparingly around 40-ish(try to keep them at ~80++ all the time) and save all my comms to build Makeb-mods-legacy-bound suits for willpower/strength/cunning(2)/reflex(2) for all my alts and their companions(usually cunning-based healer or treek); I use legacy weapons to carry hilts/barrels over between chars, and this system works quite well. I can probably struggle my way through Makeb with the Corellia greens and blues that I've got, but it'll be a challenge now that the game is awarding me Basic and Classic Comms for the content I used to do for Planetaries. You may want to go to low level planets (Pub: Coruscant/Taris - Imp: Dromund Kaas/Balmorra) and knock out as many 2 and 4 heroics as you can. Either I was seriously underestimating my own strength, or severely overestimating the gear level that Makeb's story quests were tuned for. I'm having no difficulty there at all. It just feels like a natural progression from Corellia, in terms of how tough the enemies are. It's fine. I just psyched myself out, that's all. Luneward Posted May 22, 2014 Share Posted May 22, 2014 The enemies do start to ramp up a fair bit once you hit halfway point. Early zones have level 51 creatures. Then difficulty does a few sharp jumps. Though part of it is the high level mob density compared to the class story planets. You do start getting some green 130ish stuff from quests, but when you hit 53 it still isn't a bad idea to look into start getting some blue 53 crafted mods or Oricon is very likely to chew you up and spit you out. scarlet_magpie Posted May 23, 2014 Share Posted May 23, 2014 Also, don't forget that level 50 and lvl 50 Hard mode flashpoints award very good gear as well as the classic comms you can get doing Black Hole and Sextion X dailies. This gear is very good and in my opinion competes with the makeb modded gear. Voss heroics are also a great way to get some goodies (and before you do them, don't forget to pick up the weekly "Defending Voss-Ka" from the Cantina!). Good luck and have fun!
