Alec_Fortescue
I have a spare character transfer there so it's not a problem with crate-o-matic. Since CS said that they're out of ideas I need to seek help someplace else. Problems of mine: Extremely short range of some objects appearing. Second picture is the range required for beams appearing. Example: http://imgur.com/a/tCg93 Watching films of youtube, people have those blue beams once they look outside through the main entrance to the Senate Building. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1lshofXBSw - @ 5:35 this lad has the beams right when he leaves the senate building and no z-fighting on the spaceport towers. Z fighting in several instances: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jDmZfYuMrM This lad has exactly same problems as mine: @ 9 : 00 No, it's not a driver issue. Doesn't seem to be gpu issue, really. I switched from r9 290 to gtx 780 ti (thus increasing the cost of my TOR dedicated PC up to over 2600 euro) and I still get it, although only on the left side of the tower and sort of "squarish". (this is really is not letting me sleep and i've got to get up early tomorrow, so mad!) Issues are reproduced on the laptop I have at home, which leads me to believe that there might be something corrupted within my account. Posting on General Discussion to get more attention and to give away one of my most prized possessions. Dxdiag here. i have a monster gaming PC. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 5/21/2014, 22:03:54 Machine name: DARTHSTAHL-PC Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130828-1532) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: MSI System Model: MS-7845 BIOS: BIOS Date: 11/06/13 13:55:26 Ver: 04.06.05 Processor: Intel® Core i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz Memory: 16384MB RAM Available OS Memory: 16328MB RAM Page File: 2750MB used, 29903MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found. OddballEasyEight
Most likely it is your card. Not saying your card is bad or anything, but most likely that other lad with no problems has a different card than yours. This is the only thing I can think of. It's not your drivers or your settings or anything like that. Might want to try a different card than the one you have (preferably ask the guy in the video what card he has)
mr_underhill
You can shut off AA in the game and force it using Nvidia Inspector. Check out the following link and see if any of this helps. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=591313 Good luck!
mr_underhill
You can also install the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) it will update some of the DirectX 9 files, it seems to help alot of people. You can download it from microsoft here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 Edited May 22, 2014 by mr_underhill

Alec_Fortescue
it's an LOD issue. Most cards have this problem. So you're saying that newer cards would have this problem? The older videos, compared to the newer one there, which I have linked, don't seem to have it. It's still insane because I have used two new, VERY high-end cards and both had presented lod and z fighting problems. I have already downloaded DirectXs. 9c recommended by CS and the link a person provided above. But maybe... Where should I install / unpack this stuff to? A random place will do? To mention again, I had this problem on the following cards: Sapphire r9 290 Tri-X OC MSI GTX 780 TI (meant to be best after Titan) My laptop's Nvidia 660 mobile. AMightyKnight
It cant have anything to do with your gpu if you are able to reproduce the bugs on entirely different systems. I'd try to test the hypothesis of your account somehow creating this issue. Just remove swtor from your PC, install it again and test it by using a F2P account. DarkDisturbed
My AMD r9 290x has 0 issues, I don't think it's anything to do with your card. If it's the same on your laptop, it's almost certainly NOT with the card. I'm going to assume you've already tried reinstalling your game, repairing, running as admin, etc etc. ( If you haven't I would recommend using revo uninstaller to uninstall SWTOR and reinstalling from scratch) You seem to think it's an account issue, have you tried creating a free to play account and looking? That would be extremely odd, but I guess it's possible.
znihilist
Try to increase the distance clipping in the settings ini file. There is a file called client_settings.ini in C:\Users\"Name of the user"\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings Inside that file search for FarClipScale, if it doesn't exist create it and give it a value of 0.5 (for example), and then test it in game. Keep increasing that value till you get the intended result. Edited May 22, 2014 by znihilist

Superman_AZ
So you're saying that newer cards would have this problem? To mention again, I had this problem on the following cards: Sapphire r9 290 Tri-X OC MSI GTX 780 TI (meant to be best after Titan) My laptop's Nvidia 660 mobile. Sometimes... older model phones get better reception. Reason: They were built as a PHONE and only needed reception. Most new cards do 50 different things, where as some older units were a basic 2gb undedicated DVI or VGA I know it sounds crazy, but think about the way cars were built from the 40s-60s. They ran forever and were indestructible. Tell me the last time you saw a brand new Benz spend more time on the road, than in the shop. Downgrading to an older model card, with good specs may actually be your solution.
Agidius
Try in the ini: FarClipScale = 0.3371195 or 0.5371195 or 0.7371195

MaximusRex
I never noticed it before, but I wnet to Coruscant and looked, and I was getting the same thing on the buildings, but only at certain angles. Then I turned off bloom, which I constantly have issues with it oversaturating anyhow, and it went away. I have a Intel i-7-4770k with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 @ 1920x1080, and I run in Full Screen Windows mode, if that helps any.
