Lovethebeard
Just wondering what happened to the Jedi robes that were supposed to hit the market? 12.18.2013 Hey everyone! As requested, here is an update on “traditional” robes being brought into SWTOR. I think the first thing that is important to realize is that traditional can mean different things to different people. Although I know many folks are looking for the “Obi Wan” appearance, we won’t just copy and paste that in. With that being said, we have already brought some armor into the game that is a bit more traditional, such as Relnex set in the Supreme Mogul’s pack. In talking to the Cartel Market team we also have two more “traditional” Jedi armor sets in the works. One you will see in a future pack… and another which will be a direct sale item. You should see both of these within a few Game Updates from now, I don’t have exact timing at this moment. I hope that answers your question! -eric Can we please get another update on this topic. Thanks!
Pingonaut
I've tried., really. These robes could be added with less cost than making new ones from scratch. No response. Probably because this is General Discussion, and the other thread isn't. Edited March 10, 2014 by Pingonaut

Elly_Dawn
considering all the robes in-game at the moment are from the Old Republic Timeline, you can't get more traditional than that... with my favorite traditional robes being the Relaxed Vestments... Alec_Fortescue
Traditional Jedi robes, or white and browns were worn by the Jedi from time immemorial. Starting with the Jee'dai order: Force Wars: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120809223144/starwars/images/a/a8/Force_wars_JMGD.jpg http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110304202200/starwars/images/f/f8/ForceWars-TJP.jpg http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090823040957/starwars/images/thumb/6/6c/Force_Wars-TEA.jpg/800px-Force_Wars-TEA.jpg Old Republic era: -KotOR Comic: http://static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100810175705/starwars/images/f/ff/TrueCovenant.jpg http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080912031319/starwars/images/4/47/Council1.jpg - Jedi council with Revan and two other members wearing traditional Jedi "browns". http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091118055325/starwars/images/e/e1/JediSurprise-KOTOR32.jpg Jedi Knights on Coruscant http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iRFa-dX-qzU/TSBPyUzKInI/AAAAAAAADwQ/ZooZ1fc4iqw/s200/180px-VandarVrook.jpg - Master Vrook wearing both traditional robes as well as the red outfit we know from KotOR. KotOR 2: http://crimsonkeep.com/images/screenshots/kb-kotor2-robes1i.jpg Most popular picture of the robes on the forums I think. BTW these robes were brought in by request of the fans and made a lot of people happy. Why Bioware can't do that if they're established canon for the era? First Galactic War and Cold War (game era) : http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120807203652/starwars/images/e/eb/Dural_first_duel_JMGD.jpg Jedi in the background http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120807203410/starwars/images/4/41/Gnost-Dural_SIS_JMGD.jpg Gnost-Dural and the SIS http://www.rpg-ash.me.uk/swtor/collectors_edition/master_gnost-dural_journal_3.JPG - Master Kiwiks wearing what...? http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120807203526/starwars/images/4/41/Padawan_Gnost-Dural_JMGD.jpg Gnost-Dural as padawan in a traditional robe with tabard. Two Jedi in white and browns behind him. http://www.starwarsmmo.net/cms/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/timeline005_535x300.jpg What was this guy's name...? Man is wearing traditional Jedi outfit with shoulder pads attached. Prequels - no pictures needed. Post RoTJ - non cannon cuz of disney but you can find picture of luke in the Jedi browns. Oh btw, OP if you're here because of the competition - I cancelled it last Monday. Let's go and ask the cartel market guy from suggestions forums and see if he's got an explanation for not making traditional Jedi robes yet. Robes Relnex wears were supposed to be traditional robes but due to design limitations resulting from poor engine they prolly had to make them with short sleeves, belt around waist and chest piece had have a short shirt. Now they can manage to make them properly. We saw a robe with long sleeves which turned out pretty well. Oh yes, and worry not. Ambitious Warrior's set was definitely not a "Jedi robe in the making" because it was made well over 2 years ago Here are my two predictions: Direct purchase set - Vintage Jedi Robe (KotOR 1 style) Cartel Pack - Kreia's robe. Kreia's sounds most likely because they can just make it a reskin without having to bother making a properly long shirt that would go below the waist. Kreia would just wear long sleeved robe with a hood up, short shirt and the dress most Inquisitor and Jedi Consular sets have. No pants. My god, if the implement anything like that. I would be in heaven. Also that last link is something that should have been in the game at launch. Its a must to have these sets. Baggy pants can be easily done by the illusion caused by textures. Look at Sion's pants. They look rather baggy but after closer inspection they're skin tight as everything else. WillCaedes
It is very technically challenging to add the robes to the game. Its also technically and visually challening (at least for whoever designs the color crystals) to add a proper RED (not orange) a RED color crystal to the cartel market like was promised MONTHS ago. This isn't like the botch up with the phantom armor and crap, Bioware advertised Red and delivered something that was Orange. Oh wait, its EXACTLY like the Phantom Armor and all the older sets! As for traditional jedi robes? Ready to go! Cept Bioware is still trying to figure out just how much you'll pay for them. $20.00 USD worth of cartel coins, calling it right now. Capt_Beers
My guess is they can't do baggy clothing. Everything in this game is basically a set of tights.

Toweleeeie
They added like 3. I really want robes without arm raps. It's so stupid they can't figure out the clipping issue so they just take the easy way out...
Alec_Fortescue
So... Any chance for an answer involving some reasoning behind not including these robes (at not including them yet) and, maybe, some eta...? Pretty please :[ It's really not letting me sleep. Either the demand is not there, which I doubt or they're saving it for a rainy day, namely a time period where they'll be able to take advantage of those robes' release in a more meaningful fashion. Vinak
It's kind of sad how the community has to practically beg for proper jedi robes in a Star Wars game.
