Klalose Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 We are going to need a real villian. I am not sure what it's going to be but RISE OF THE HUTT CARTEL did not exactly get me excited. We need like a sith lord or jedi master going bat **** crazy and creating some new kinda army that both the empire and republic have to band together to stop. Or hell maybe some kinda ancient force dragon explodes out of the Nether and threatens the entire galaxy as it consumes worlds and eats jedi and sith alike? I MEAN FREAKEN GO FOR IT BIOWARE! DON'T PLAY IT SAFE! GO BIG! THIS IS A MMO! I WANT TO CRAP MY PANTS WHEN I SEE THE NEW EXPANSION **** NEEDS TO GO DOWN!

BioWare still has the Dread Masters, which they sadly mostly use in operations and those kind of PvE does not really have much story to it. A good villain needs a build up, Like BioWare did with Malgus, but sadly they used pretty much everything... maybe Satele could go crazy next, since she is still around. Sadly with the story now only on the backseat I don't see great villains in the future of SWTOR. But if I could pick one, bring Thana back (even for those who killed her), and make her a great villain not just an annoying antagonist, she has that potential, and plenty of players had strong reactions to her (one way or the other). Excise Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 SWTOR is really bad about developing their villains (Malgus being the one exception, but he got tossed into a pit). You never really get to know the Archon. Even the Dread Masters, who have been the big villains for a while now, don't get much exposure (even with their appearance in Imp Belsavis). Other than Styrak or whoever, I don't think I could name you any off the top of my head.

That's the problem, BioWare wasted all its good characters on flashpoints. Then again, maybe they assumed nobody would bother with operations.

Both BW and the EU authors heh. Revan went poof with some HP still left and Malgus pre nerf took a tumble down the shaft but could have hung on to something. All in all I agree with the OP. Makeb just fell flat and thank god it seems to be a wrapped up arc for the most part. There just isn't any fleshed out antagonist or faction conflict in TOR when you put it up against say WoW. Why can't there be a ****** expansion called The Call of the Dread Masters and a new class where you get to play a dread master deciple with your own story arc starting at level 55 to 60. No need to level 1 - 60 cause you would have to tie it in with all the other story arcs which would be a little much. obviously you need 1 character at 55 which is perfect. Anyway, bioware just put a nail in the coffin or buck up and actually do something MMO worthy.
