danielswann Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 I live in austin, tx about 20 minutes from biowares headquarters. I have noticed a bit of clunkyness in pvp when i play on west coast servers vrs east coast and was wondering how i could check my ping to see if there was any difference between the 2.
OwenBrooks Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 (edited) Easiest way is download http://www.pingplotter.com and set it to one of the IPs below when playing •If you play on an East Coast server: 159.153.92.28 •If you play on a West Coast server: 159.153.68.252 •If you play on a European server: 159.153.72.252 edit - or use below if that is all you need Edited August 24, 2013 by OwenBrooks

There is a ping status bar (looks like the strength of reception bars on your cell phone) down on the lower right of the mini map in the client. Hover over it and it will tell you your latency. I find it fairly accurate... but if you want to do it the nerd way.. you need to ping the direct ip of the server using any of a number of pingtest pages on the internet (your ISP probably provides you one)... but I don't see the point in all that nerdage.
Rankyn Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 The servers aren't in Austin and if that's where you're playing from, you'll have higher latency to west than east.
